May be this can help: http://webhelp.esri.com/arcgisserver/9.3/java/index.htm#designing_overlay_gm_mve.htm You can load the Google Maps and Microsoft Virtual Earth scales into ArcMap's dropdown list of scales by doing the following: 1128.497220 2256.994440 4513.90 9027.977761 18055.955520 36111.911040 72223.822090 17.644200 288895.288400 577790.576700 1155581.153000 2311162.307000 4622324.614000 9244649.227000 18489298.45 36978596.91 73957193.82 147914387.60 295828775.30 591657550.50 Glen Ossman wrote: how can i read the scale from the google map? change the map to scale 50K on print composer and plotting on e-size paper does not work .. ___ Qgis-user mailing list Qgis-user@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user

In the composer you then need to manually set the scale of the map object to be one of those scale levels, otherwise you'll get the described issue. cheers -- Giovanni -- ___ Qgis-user mailing list Qgis-user@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user

Jonathan, THANK YOU !! It worked perfectly! This solves some problems that have been troubling one of our communities trying to publish a map. And your English is much better than my French, so don't worry !!! Every time I visit Quebec, I try to speak French. Unfortunately, it is so bad that the Quebecois all rush to speak English with me so they don't have to listen to me destroy their beautiful language !! ;-) Cheers! And thanks again!
