Thanks!
There seems to be a small bug though because I had to reassign all the
symbols that I had set previously. To make sure I restarted QGIS but it did
not had the desired effect.

Awesome, thanks for the quick replies.

I can't remember setting it... would relative potentially be a better

there is an option in the project properties: use relative or absolute
paths.

[Qgis-user] relative paths of texture fill images

2011-02-15 Thread John Callahan
I found an inconsistency with styles that contain relative oaths to texture
fill images. I have a polygon shapefile that uses png images as texture
fills. In my style file (.qml), if the path to the image file is relative
(./fill.png), then that texture fill is NOT found
and left blank. If the path is absolute
(C:\data\images\peg.png), then it displays
fine. I also tried variants of the paths, such as simply fill.ong or
.\fill.png.

However, when opening a QGIS project file (.qgs) with the style included, it
doesn't matter if it's relative or absolute. The texture fill images
display fine either way.

Re: [Qgis-user] relative paths for texture graphics

2009-10-10 Thread Goyo
Hi John,

with the osgeo4w installer you can install recent builds of trunk that
work pretty well (I'm using them regularly at work) and simultaneously
previous versions. They are also compatible with versions installed with
the instandalone installer.

Just be aware that switching between versions can mess your
configuration or cause crashes due to incompatible plugins since they
share the configuration directory and registry entries (but this never
happened to me switching between 1.3 and trunk).

[Qgis-user] relative paths for texture graphics

2009-10-09 Thread John Callahan
Does QGIS support relative paths for texture fill graphics in the
symbology? In the qgis and qml files, I see the texturepath element
that points to the graphic image file. I tried the standard "./" (and
variations) before the file name with no luck. The shapefile data
sources, qgis, qml, and texture graphic files are all in the same folder.

Relative paths for data sources works great. Thanks for your help.
