Re: [Qgis-user] Sextante: setting the output folder
is in the config file at [your user folder]/sextante/sextante_qgis.conf, at an entry named OUTPUT_FOLDER Regards 2012/5/8 Paulo van Breugel p.vanbreu...@gmail.com: This is the only one I encountered so far. Re: [Qgis-user] Sextante: setting the output folder
There was no such conf file in the folder initially. Only when changing some other settings (e.g., in GRASS GIS settings) the file is created. In a new session, these GRASS settings are maintained. Also, if I now change the folder location in the general settings, this is maintained in the general settings too. Meaning, if you open the options, the new path is there and also in the conf file, the new path is there. However, Sextante does not seem to do anything with that path, it keeps using the default folder (user/sextante). There was no such conf file in the folder initially. Only when changing some other settings (e.g., in GRASS GIS settings) the file is created. If you do not change anything, the file isnot created, since it uses the default values However, Sextante does not seem to do anything with that path, it keeps using the default folder (user/sextante). what do you mean with it keeps using. If you enter a filename like myraster.tif (without a full path), it will save it to [output folder]/myraster.tif That is how the output folder works, and as far as I can tell, is working fine in the latest version. If you click on the button on the right of the selection panel, it will open the default folder, but only if you haven't used it before. otherwise, it will open the file selection fialog in the last folder that you used. If you do not enter any filename, the output goes to a temporary file, and those files are always kept in user/sextante/tempdata, since it is assumed that are temporary and should be deleted. Otherwise, you should have entered a full pathname or at least a filename. Hope this makes things a bit clearer Regards ___ Qgis-user mailing list Qgis-user@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user
Re: [Qgis-user] Sextante: setting the output folder
Thanks for the reply and your explanation, yes, it makes things clearer, thanks. What I tried to do is to change the location of the 'Sextante' folder. This is now automatically created in my home folder each time I start up QGIS (if it isn't already there). I would like to have that folder in another location that better fits how I organize my folders. I though I could change that in the general settings, but I think I misunderstood that option. Does this mean the location of the folder sextante is 'hard coded' somewhere as 'home/sextante'? If so, is there a way I can change that? I hope my question makes sense, otherwise, I might not have understood things completely after all :-/ Cheers, Paulo On 05/08/2012 07:23 PM, Victor Olaya wrote: There was no such conf file in the folder initially. Re: [Qgis-user] Sextante: setting the output folder
you are right, it is harcoded, like the .qgis folder, for instance. You can change it in the code, but I think it is not a good idea, since it might lead to problems in some commands and tasks (it should not, but I wouldn't be completely sure) regards Victor 2012/5/8 Paulo van Breugel p.vanbreu...@gmail.com: Thanks for the reply and your explanation, yes, it makes things clearer, thanks.
