Re: [Qgis-user] hide vector under raster?
Hi, If you are having crashes, try on 2.18 to see if you have the same problem. Are you using on the fly reprojection? If your vector file is not in the same format as the raster, the reprojection is probably taking all the time. Try saving in an other format like spatialite that is more efficient than shp. Copy the file on a local disk and not a file server. Make a new project with only the raster and the vector files to make try and isolate the crash problem. Disable all plugins. Perhaps the control rendering order in the layer order panel can help? Not sure, I don’t use that. It just takes so long to load the vector data that QGIS doesn't respond anymore. When I click somewhere into QGIS after 10-15 minutes, Windows told me that the app crashed and that I have to restart it. > Questions: What kind of layer is this: DataProvider? geometryType? 24 shapefiles, polygon grid with 100 x 100 meters > Which version of QGIS are you using? Re: [Qgis-user] hide vector under raster?
Hi Tobias, I did not really get what you want to achieve. Let me put it in my words (this is what I understand) 1) You have a vector layer with _many_ features 2) You do not want to have it rendered because it takes so long to render 3) You want to query this layer 4) When you zoom out QGIS crashes when using the no symbols renderer Questions: What kind of layer is this: DataProvider? geometryType? Which version of QGIS are you using? Does QGIS crash when zooming out while you use a simple renderer? Hi there, is it possible to hide a vector layer under a raster layer? Sure, it makes use of an spatial index, but since there are many vector elements, it takes a while. I tried to hide the vector layer using visibility at fixed scale, but then it's not possible to query it...
