I have tested with your csv file, there is no problem to save the style
in qml file. Can you explain your method to save the style ?

From Layer Properties Style pane I use the "Save Style ..." button.

Perhaps it is a Windows-only issue?

I just realized that using the "Save As Default" button works well...?

OK, I didn't know it was a graduated style.

So, it works for me again.

What's happen when you click on "save the style" ? A window appears
where you can choose name and location of your qml file ?

Re: [Qgis-user] Unable to save style for .csv layer

2013-03-15 Thread magerlin
Yes – the window opens, I write a file name and choose save and all seems OK.

But if i open the folder in a file manager or if I try to reload the qml in
QGIS I see that no file is created.

I have tried to specify the file name both with and without the .qml extension
but it makes no difference.

Hi Morten,

I can reproduce your problem here.

It is working on QGIS1.8 on linux, but I fail to save a qml in QGIS1.8
on Windows7 (osgeo4w install), doing exact the same steps (using your
csv files or a newly created simple txt file).

Tried QGIS osgeo4w dev version, is also not working

I think you should issue a bugreport for this

Richard Duivenvoorde

I have filed a bugreport: http://hub.qgis.org/issues/7362

The report has been updated later by developer:
"It works perfectly on qgis master, please test and report back. Cheers!"

I personally do not have dev/master installed so I am not able to test it.

Is it by the way trouble free to have both version 1.8 and master installed
on the same Win 7 pc?

Should be, just re-run your osgeo4w setup tool and in the advanced menu
add the QGIS-dev package.

Thanks,

This is no problem at all. I also have

Qgis 1.8.0 Stand alone installer in Win7 64 bit

for daily work, and OSGEO4W with Qgis Master (package qgis-dev)
seperately for testing new things. If Master gets broken due to bugs in
nightly builds, you can easily through away the whole C:\OSGeo4W\ folder
and re-install everything, without spoiling your standalone version.

Only obstacle are some new plugins that do not like QGIS Lisboa. Both
versions store the plugins in the same user directory. WMS and database
settings are also shared between the versions.

André Joost
