Hi Anders.
Thanks for your offer. I think a repo should be accessible through a plugin
better
than through a web interface. I think it would be a great addition to QGIS.
Better still if users could also upload their collections (taking
responsability it's
free stuff).
All the best.

open the qml file, on line 4 (or around that line) and you can see
something like the following:

 " CODE_00 "

in my example, CODE_00 is the attribute table where the qml takes the
data from. Check over your qml file, create (and populate) the
attributes accordingly

Re: [Qgis-user] corine land cover shapefile...

2010-07-02 Thread nikos ves
here's a qml with the legent of every class of CORINE according eea's
legend file.(attach1)

in your shape file, make a new attribute table, and name it(!) CODE_00
(!) and populate it with the codes without any dots. eg class 1.1.1
should become 111 at column CODE_00.
This is important: name it CODE_00 otherwise it wont work, and the
length should be at least 3 chars long.
The reason for this is that the original corine shapefiles already comes
with like that.
Don't forget to save after making the column.

After that load the qml. I haven't applied the official colours but if
needed I can take some time to tune it.

Also i attach an ods (open document spreadsheet) with the classes,
labels RGB colour values and etc taken from eea site.

… how about setting up a central repo … Some suggestions:

I´m trying to make all my mapsymbols (about 1800) and some of my OGC/WMS
1.1.1 SLDs and QML files public in Sweden.

My first try was with Dreamweaver/Spry
http://www.gisassistans.se/SLDoKStabell_ans100605_v3
  .html and
here you can see QMLs as well.

Click on the small 50x50px STYLE-image and you get a 400x400px version.
Click on SLD and in IE8 you get the code. In FireFox you have to open the
SLD file and I use XML copy editor.

I had to change to mySQL/PHP because Dreamweaver/Spry didn´t manage (to
slow) 37 000 rows of mapsymbol metadata in HTML!

This is my current mySQL/PHP test, before I export all mapsymbols to mySQL
from FileMaker 8.5 Pro.

http://www.gisassistans.se/php_till_mysql_Test_7_Query_9_Bild_1
  KS_ID 100627 0752 gisass_se.php

Click on the mapsymbolpicture and you will se the original picture.

All in Swedish - sorry! But I think you get the idea.

Perhaps something like this could be a way to share our QMLs, SLDs and also
mapsymbols?

I think it is VERY IMPORTANT to have a picture showing the result of the
QML, SLD or mapsymbol.

I´ve got the idea from

http://data.aad.gov.au/aadc/symbology/search.cfm?start=40

&search_word=&search_type=SYMBOL_FEATURE_NAME&symbol_type=POLYGON

I also whish that the QML2SLD question was activated.

I just don´t understand why QGIS is built on QML instead of SLD 1.0, but as
it is, it would be very nice to be able to generate styles both ways, i.e.
QML2SLD and SLD2QML.

If I can be of any help I´m willing to do my best. My strength is not
programming, but I suppose there is other work to be done.

We did a colour table for GRASS rasters, but not a qml. It is easy to rewrite
it though.
This raises an interesting point: how about setting up a central repo for
sharig user
generated qml and other stuff?

I made .qml files for the Stockholm region i Sweden covering Corine themes:

1.1.1 1.1.2 1.2.1
1.2.2 1.2.3 1.2.4
1.3.1 1.3.2 1.3.3

4.1.1 4.1.2
4.2.1
5.1.1 5.1.2
5.2.1 5.2.2 5.2.3

I split the original Shapefile into one file for each layer above and every
layer has an .qml file.
Would that be of help?

If so - I can zip the QML-files and send them to you. Comments are in
Swedish, but I don’t think that matters.
I followed the colourspec´s. The 2 has to be
changed I think. It is to wide in small scales. //Regards Anders Söderman
