Re: [Qgis-user] help with reprojecting rasters

  Hi,
is your scanned topo sheet TM-projected ?

Oleg.

Hi Oleg,
  Thanks for your reply
Sorry didn't understand the TM- projected ! did you mean to ask UTM projected
?
No it is LCC and the datum is Modified everest 1984.
But that should not make a difference after all reprojections is about
coverting one projection to another.
The scanned toposheet has been georeferenced by me to geo lat/long coordinate
system i.e unprojected coordinated system. I have been able to convert it to
utm using gdalwarp utility . I wan't to convert it using grass tools/modules
from within QGIS.
  Thanks

2007-12-18 Thread nishith datta
hi leonardo,
I am using qgis -.9.0 on win xp platform
When I create a new grass vector layer and a attribute table I have a
peculiar problem.
During digitisation after I save the feature it refuses to update the
attribute in the grass dbf database, it says Warning: Attributes missing.
When I try to update the database it says
  DBMI-DBF driver error:
SQL parser error: syntax error, unexpected $undefined, expecting EQUAL
processing ':'
  in statement:
update test1 set WARNING: ATTRIBUTES MISSING = 'WARNING: ATTRIBUTES MISSING'
where cat = 1
  Error in db_execute_immediate()
How to solve the problem ?!?!?

Someone else asked me about this, but I haven't heard back yet:

Check the console and system logs in console.app.

Which system version?

 Any ideas.

[Qgis-user] Information about QGis

2007-12-18 Thread Micros
This is a generic question about what is possible to do whit QGIS:
Sorry but I need write in Italian to explain my doubts.

delucidativa?
Grazie comunque.

Re: [Qgis-user] qgis 9.1 quits on start up

2007-12-18 Thread Dan Dittmann
I encountered similar symptoms but was able to get version .91 up and
running on my MacBook Pro (with Leopard).

I downloaded and updated Python from
http://www.python.org/ftp/python/2.5.1/python-2.5.1-macosx.dmg

After doing so, I ran into the same problem again. Combing through the
read me for answers, I found I had not installed the needed frameworks
so I found a DMG with the Unix compatibility frameworks on my other
computer. Still, it did not work so I began manually updating
frameworks based from clues in Console.

After downloading and installing two or three frameworks from
http://www.kyngchaos.com/wiki/software:frameworks
, I was able to get it up and running.

Now the only problem I have relates to getting postgis layers working.
Since I found

12/18/07 5:47:48 PM [0x0-0x30030].org.qgis.qgis[379] Warning: Loading
a file that was saved with an older version of qgis (saved in 0.9.0-
Ganymede, loaded in 0.9.1-Ganymede). Problems may occur.

in my console. I suspect I am out of luck with regards to this issue.

Ah, I just noticed that myself this morning. The PyQt stuff
improperly links the Python extension libraries to the python

python, they should be built as bundles, not libraries, and not linked

I did not notice this in my attempt to make the Qgis python stuff
python-agnostic. Looks like I need separate Qgis builds for Tiger and
Leopard. I'll get a new build ready later this evening.

I don't know why Qgis crashed, though. It should just ignore the
missing Python and disable Python features. Do you have Python
 installed?

Re: [Qgis-user] [Qgis-developer] Python build problem on OSX

2007-12-18 Thread Tom Elwertowski
William Kyngesburye wrote:
I found a build problem (unnoticed back in 0.9.0) with the Python
support on OSX - it will NOT build universal, or with an SDK (which
means I can't build *on* Leopard *for* Tiger, due to some library
 version incompatibilities).

I work around the problem by editing the two generated Makefiles in
build/python/core and build/python/gui after the C++ generation step is
finished.

To CFLAGS and CXXFLAGS add
-isysroot /Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.4u.sdk -arch i386 -arch ppc

To LFLAGS add
-Wl,-syslibroot,/Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.4u.sdk -arch i386 -arch ppc

This can be done after the build is done or you can interrupt the build
as soon as you see the message that it's starting compilation of
core.so. I also delete any .o in the two directories. Running 'make'
again will (re)build Universal modules.

The problem is that the QGIS Python modules are completely managed by a
Python script. If the generated files were directly compiled by CMake,
the problem would disappear. This would also solve the problem of all
C++ files being regenerated and recompiled whenever any file, not just
those which have a modified Python binding, is modified. It would make
more sense to me if each sipxxx.cpp depended upon xxx.sip and Python was
invoked only to generate the .cpp file leaving CMake to take care of
compiling and linking C++ files.
