Although it is probably true to say that there has always been a 'wicked' sense of humour in the computer world ... :-) I seem recall that the "C" language, for example, emerged as a new variant computer language, as it was not "A" or "B" - which already existed. I was not aware of that. He always sent a copy to the Librarian and I used it regularly. It had one simple advantage over Perfection. It had decimal tabs. John. It was publicly available, not just for Quanta members. In fact, Erling Jacobsen and Gunther Strube wrote in the "readme" file "We hope that you will enjoy XCHANGE - and - it is YOUR responsibility to distribute XCHANGE to every QL user you know!" The full archives were available on the JMS BBS and can now be obtained on the BBS-CD I offered some time ago in QL Today, at the time the BBS was shut down.
