[ql-users] Miracle System Extenderam
Hello Group I've just bought Sinclair QL system with above mentioned card, unfortunately w/o memory chips. Can anyone tell me what kind of memory this card accepts (I know 256kbits, but is it 70 or 80ns)? Also, is there any chance to get Super GoldCard in any reasonable price? TIA, Sergiusz ___ QL-Users Mailing List http://www.q-v-d.demon.co.uk/smsqe.htm

The QL is not fast (8-)# Replacing the chips on the QL motherboard is the best bet though - if you are up to that. No other mods would be needed. If you are handy with a hot air gun, then chips can be removed one by one and replaced with sockets in one operation without soldering. You have to know what you are doing as there is a risk of destroying the motherboard. Tony, I thought the advantage of using an external RAM expansion, was that it was quicker than an external one, also it is only a matter of inserting the chips into the empty sockets on the expanderam. -- Rich Mellor RWAP Services URL:http://www.rwapsoftware.co.uk URL:http://www.rwapadventures.com URL:http://www.rwapservices.co.uk URL:http://www.internetbusinessangels.com ___ QL-Users Mailing List http://www.q-v-d.demon.co.uk/smsqe.htm

True - it is faster (by 30%?), but other expansions (like disk interfaces) connected to the ram expansion are dodgy mechanically (and add signal noise). Best bet is Trump/Gold/Supergold card of course (8-)# Tony -- QBBS (QL fido BBS 2:252/67) +44(0)1442-828255 [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://firshman.co.uk Voice: +44(0)1442-828254 Fax: +44(0)1442-828255 Skype: tonyfirshman TF Services, 29 Longfield Road, TRING, Herts, HP23 4DG ___ QL-Users Mailing List http://www.q-v-d.demon.co.uk/smsqe.htm
