[Ql-Users] QXL SMSQE3.16 & SMSQmulator 1.16
ear Wolfgang I have tried your latest version again, and have the following problems. SMSQmulator Error 100 REPeat in: PRINT INKEY$(-1) when run produces error At line 100:2 only arrays or strings may be indexed. This stops me running some of my SBasic programs. qxl_smsqe Error On running on my Windows 95 machine and exiting with Ctrl ScrollLock either produces this error Your program caused a divide overflow error. If the problem persists contact your vendor. or resets machine if one has been using the qxl for any length of time. John ___ QL-Users Mailing List http://www.q-v-d.demon.co.uk/smsqe.htm

Hi John, I have tried your latest version again, and have the following problems. SMSQmulator Error 100 REPeat in: PRINT INKEY$(-1) Hmmm, this runs without a problem here - actually, I use something like that rather often... Could you try that on a "naked" SMSQmulator, where nothing else was loaded in a boot program? ... (QXL) Your program caused a divide overflow error. If the problem persists contact your vendor. or resets machine if one has been using the qxl for any length of time. But it doesn't crash during use? I don't have a QXL card anymore (or rather I don't have a PC that would fit one) , does anybody else have that problem? Wolfgang ___ QL-Users Mailing List http://www.q-v-d.demon.co.uk/smsqe.htm

Try, in the first screen, to set one of the drives to some valid file and "save" it. Wolfgang ___ QL-Users Mailing List http://www.q-v-d.demon.co.uk/smsqe.htm

My QXL-3.16 is running from M$DOS(W$98), no overflow or any other message on exit. Are you sure the crash is not a hardware problem? My previous W$95 PC has developed a fault in the PSU which would spontaneously reset the machine, sometimes. On occasion it would not start but now it doesn't start at all, so I migrated to a W$98 machine. It's been running for hours without problems. Re: [Ql-Users] QPC and standby
That sounds perfectly feasible to me, although the error message implies it can't cope with the Windows theme and it says it's switching it to windows 7 basic. Not too bothered by it, as the solution is simply to remember to minimise or close QPC if it is likely to go into standby. I suppose I could make the time-to-standby longer, but that would save less power. Interesting thing is that it didn't do this before going away for repair and it has been reinstalled from the same media to the state it was before (in theory!) Ah well...at least QPC otherwise works very well and very fast on this PC. The repair was the wireless card, although the OS was reinstalled. If the QPC2 is left open, it locks up after coming out of standby – usual egg-timer icon or greyed out display. If QPC2 is running, but minimised to the taskbar before standby, it usually continues to work OK afterward. The OS is Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit with Service Pack 1. Any ideas what might be causing this, or what settings I should check? Re: [Ql-Users] QPC and standby
If I remember correctly Windows 64 bit needs some tweaking to get some 32 bit programs to run properly. I seem to remember something about running 32 bit in a special mode on 64 bit machines. I am sorry I cannot be more specific because I have neither Windows 7 or 8. Perhaps Marcel is able to investigate this and issue either a 64 bit version or a version which is compatible on both 32 bit and 64 bit Windows 7 and 8 machines. Has anybody tried QPC2 on a Windows 8 machine because that may be another can of worms!
