Re: [Ql-Users] Ql-Users Digest, Vol 126, Issue 21

2014-08-26 Thread Derek Stewart

Hi,

I do not mind any Scottish food... how is the menu option for each
person going to be decided. Is it on the nigh with a selection from a
fixed menu.

Regards,

Derek

I booked my dinner today, but TBH, I´d be grateful if there was another dish

everything we have over here - but it would be a shame not to eat something you
ordered and spent 36 Euros on it.

Best regards,
Stefan

Geoff,
I'm not sure if I have already opted for pure Scottish food, if not I'll do it
now. I'm perfectly fine with the proposed menu.
And btw we have quite a number of similar regional dishes here, so I guess
we'll survive
Again thanks for organising and looking forward to see you in October ,

Tobias

Just a reminder that payments for the QLis30 dinner should be made by
next weekend.

Because of continuing problems with the SQLUG bank account we are
asking all people to pay by the Quanta PayPal account:

https//quanta.org.uk/ql-30

This will take you directly to Quanta's PayPal account for the dinner.

Many thanks to Quanta for this facility. We would have been in a
difficult situation without them.

The Holiday Inn have indicated that if we want they would make the
main course the quintessential Scottish meal of Haggis, Tatties and
Neaps often accompanied by a wee dram. (Tatties are potatoes and neaps
turnips)

Haggis is sheep's offal cooked with onion, oatmeal and spices and
tastes far nicer than it sounds. I had some delightful haggis for
breakfast at Kinlochbervie in June. However it is not to everyone's
liking and we would like to hear your opinions.

Aparently there is a regional dish in North Hesse called weckewerk
that is a form of Haggis,

Best wishes,

Geoff

[Ql-Users] Re QL-30 Dinner Menu.

2014-08-26 Thread jms1

Dear Dinners

The standard set of the three hotel dinner menus has already been
advertised twice and I believe the choice can be made on the night.e
hotel can make preparations for them in advance

Any special menu such as Haggis, Neaps Tatties or special dietary
needs will have to be ordered in advance so the hotel can make
preparations for them in advance.
