I found the site to run rather slow on my SGI R5K Indy with Netscape 3.01S. The javascript was really slow to run. Personally I will not create a web site with either Java, Javascript, Flash, or other fluff. I prefer plain html. Granted I won't write any e-commerce sites, but too many regular web pages use this fluff stuff to make it look better at the sacrafice of it working well on a number of browsers. I wish I could send a missle the way of each webmaster that says "update to the latest X brower to see our page". Tim Swenson

Yeah exactly. ... and I wish that browsers would come with flashing text (and dynamic gif) filters. I find it quite impossible to examine a site with all the movement. I always have to click 'stop' Whoever does a QL browser please note. Must admit, I use IE 4.01 SP1 and most sites using Java (including Phoebus' site) cause runtime errors. I had to download Flash yesterday just so that my son could use the Thomas The Tank Engine website. He got so bored waiting for it to download he'd lost interest by the time something useable came up. That's why I only use animated GIFs on my site for animations to keep things ultra simple. Any material for hosting is welcome (Diagrams, schematics, specs, source code, tutorials, OS specific stuff (including Q40/60 Linux)... you name it) I have a pretty good collection myself and it gets bigger day by day.
