Roy, would it be possible for you to send one or two disks my way - I have an IBM ED drive (and ways to cheaply get more) that I would like to connectto the QL but it has no jumpers. The only way to figure out wether ED works is using an ED disk and connecting it to a PC first, but I have no ED disks. Experiments with 'false' ED (HD with hole drilled) did not work so far... :-( Thanks, Nasta
[ql-users] Roy Wood
Sorry Roy for using your name as a subject but seeing the current string of messages that are around I felt the need to respond. I am simply an end user, I am not involved in any of the 'high end' of the QL market or in the development of new hardware. I contacted Roy recently to discuss and purchase some more modern QL equipment and software. I'd just like to say that I've had absolutely nothing but good service and good advice from Roy (and Q Branch). Even when problems were caused by my own stupidity Roy was there on the phone to offer advice and support (and on one occasion replacement hardware). The only reason that I feel the need to mention this is that I don't want to see yet another QL supplier disappear due to bad press. Roy has my full support and I won't hesitate to contact him again should I need to make any further purchases. I'll get off my soap box now ;-) Phil
[ql-users] NB: The 2nd Irish QL Show 2002
Ok folks, I've gone and done it. The 2nd Irish QL show will take place this Summer - over the August Bank Holiday weekend, 24th to 26th August, 2002. The dates are definate - just the venue and times etc. to be finalised (I have several options available to me). It will most probably be on the Saturday, (this sound OK?) which would allow Sunday and Monday to hit the huge selection of Irish pubs in the Area ;-)) Or, if not into that, the huge amount of tourist attractions in the Area (Glendalough, just down the road, is the 2nd biggest tourist area in Ireland) It will most likely be in Roundwood, about 6 or 7 miles away from the location of the previous one a few years ago. It will be near the IT and Internet Shop I own so I will be providing free internet access for the day too. I will also organise a meal afterwards, and possibly on the Friday night also. More info as and when I finalise things - I'm open to ideas in the interim. So, Who's Coming?
