Also worth reminding that the etiquette of this list is no attachments. Then
we know to be wary of any mailing with an attachment.

BTW I received the virus 3 times, once as a "private" email from a member of
this list. All three trapped and rendered harmless by Norton

Geoff Wicks.

Well this one is OK as plain text, so must be working :-)

Yet, if you receive as HTML you will send as HTML with the option you
have set.

Better to have plain text only for this list.

Hi

These machines are set to use HTML by preferance(ours), but the
OE option to 'reply in the the format messages are received' is
ticked. I presume you receive this as plain text.

I did receive the message and my helpful email editor gave the offending
file a different name but also produced GLENN5(1).jpg which did work using
a jpeg viewer that is very fussy about file structures and refuses to load
anything that is not pukka.

This debate seems to keep coming around.

If every user could disable the HTML or MIME option for this list it
would help us all. Then it will only be plain text that gets posted.

Outlook Express is one of the mailers to have HTML as the default option
- so you have to make an active choice to change it.

Apologies for the cross-post. I hit reply and it sent it to all
recipients. The ql-users list is also configured strangely. Possibly a
hangover from when it was first set up at a slightly different address,
and both addresses have been kept valid.

Last thing I wanted to do was peek over the parapet and spam everyone :(

Our system - MCAfee - allows the email through and butchers the payload so
that people know something was amiss.
