ps -aux |grep send
root 5585 0.0 0.0 2324 212 pts/0S12:33 0:00
supervise send
qmails5586 0.0 0.0 2492 380 pts/0S12:33 0:00 qmail-
send
qmaill 18075 0.0 0.0 2680 212 pts/0S14:47 0:00 /usr/
bin/multilog t s100 n100 /var/log/qmail/send

root 18208 0.0 0.0 5580 656 pts/0R+ 14:48 0:00 grep send

when i kill all of them and start qmailctl everything works fine for

[qmailtoaster] Unable to send mail to other than local domains.

2006-06-09 Thread Kaven Gagnon
Hi,
I got a little problem with my new qmail server. Users can send to local
domain and cannot send to domain outside of the world. Is it possible to
get Qmail working for sending without leave it open relay?

Thanks.

Regards,
Kaven G.

RE: [qmailtoaster] A few questions...

2006-06-09 Thread Kaven Gagnon
Hi,

About My file permission problem (domain folder have another right
assignment than vpopmail:vchkpw)... I did a few tests again, and it seems
to be directly associated to new QmailToaster packages... I did a fresh
CentOS 4.3 install on a dev server and install new packages and get same
problem (domain folder are owned by nonexistent user/group!!! (503:502).
The problem persist even if I change permission to vpopmail:vchkpw. I do
the same install, but with old QmailToaster packages and it work well...
I'm out of idea! If someone has any idea about this problem, thanks for any
advice...

Regards,
Kaven G.

First, I got a strange error if I try to add a domain.  Create it goes fine,
but if I try to log in with the postmaster account to create new account (on
qmailadmin), it said "invalid login".  Same thing with another account
created manually on the shell.  After some test, I see that the folder
/home/vpopmail/domains/"domain.tld" doesn't have appropriated right
assignment.  Normally it should be 'drwx--  vpopmail vchkpw' but it is
'drwx--  3 salearn 503'.  "salearn" user is a user that I created a few
weeks ago to run my salearn script and group "503" is the backup group...
added a few weeks ago too!  I delete this user/group and delete the domain
in trouble and create it again for testing...  but now folder permission is
'drwx--  502    503' (uid of salearn user and backup group that I
deleted)!  I got invalid login too even if I change them for vpopmail and
vvhkpw.

Should be owned by vpopmail:vchkpw, which is uid/gid 89:89
Might want to make sure this user even exists. I'm going to snip a part out
of the rest of your message, since I suspect this is causing 90% of your
problems.

The third, do you know any project for mass mailbox to maildir conversion?
My old Sendmail server use /var/mail for Inbox and /home/"user" for
directory that the user has created to classify their mail... so it can be
long by using Perfect Maildir script in each folder on large mail system!

I have some scripts somewhere here to do that if you want them. Email me off
list. Someone sent them to me to put on my site - just haven't gotten around
to it in the last 6 months

[qmailtoaster] Relay - 553 sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts

2006-06-09 Thread Kaven Gagnon
Hi,
I just finish my new QmailToaster setup a got a problem that I never had
before. If users try to send mail to local domains, it work but if they try
to send outside, they receive this message: 553 sorry, that domain isn't in
my list of allowed rcpthosts (#5.5.3 - chkuser).

How to make it working without leaving qmail open relay?

Thanks a lot.

After your fresh install, make sure that uid/gid 89:89 is not being
used.I think if you don't turn something off in the install, the
evolution uses that uid/gid ( might be a different app).

It shouldn't be an open relay out of the box. It's set up to not be one.
Did you get the uid/gid problem fixed? I don't want to try and look at
another issue while the first is unresolved.
What IP do your clients come from? If you're using Nick's firewall, it
blocks users from private IPs.

2006-06-09 Thread Kaven Gagnon
Hi,
Yes, my first issue was caused by corrupted package! I download
packages again and do a fresh install.

It's ok about my relay problem, i'm not using the Nick's firewall
but it was a syntax error in my iptables script! (Sorry, my mind is
slowing down after two days without sleeping! A lot of mail migration to
do!)

I got another question... about attachments; sometime it said "554
invalid message content (#5.3.2)". The attachment was a simple
Microsoft Word document, I try to send another document and everything goes
fine... any idea about this?

Thanks a lot for you're help.

Regards,
Kaven G.

I get this from time to time myself. The document fails a signature in
either badmimetypes and badloadertypes. Check those signatures against
your file, and comment out the one giving you a false positive, then
rebuild their respective cdb's.
