[qmailtoaster] ISO

Is there some reason why bind is not installing in qmt-iso? Seems like it
should be part of the plan.

Squirrelmail uses a plugin for https, so it's a bit different. I'm not
sure how you would do it with the Toaster admin.

Yes, you are right. I've implemented https for my squirrelmail but just
having problem setting up for my admin-toaster.

That option has been broken for a while now. I've never had a need to do
something like that, and I imagine that not too many other people have or
someone would have fixed the options or written a new one.

Not really. The logs will autorotate, and any dirs that need to be emptied
are already doing that. Pretty much forget about it.
I personally move my logs off-site so I can keep long-term logs (I think
the logs get deleted after 30 days), and I manually perform a yum update
once a month - I do it manually so I can see what is being updated and
make notes but that's mainly for development purposes.
As far as the Toaster packages - unless there's a security update or you
NEED one of the new features, I'd suggest leaving it alone. Most of mine
are a few versions out of current, but I'm an avid believer in "if it's
not broke, don't break it." I have a client that did a firmware upgrade on
an IBM eServer that went badly - cost them the whole machine (IBM wanted
$800 to fix it on-site, $900 for a new MB, or I replaced it with a generic
P4 server for $600) and when the IT guy was asked why he tried to update
the BIOS said "because there was a newer version".
Oh, the only thing I do on a weekly basis is check the HD free space to
make sure everything is alright.

Jim,

I am a pretty basic user of the toaster and I installed qtp and keep up to
date with the releases. I also do the the yum updates and I have yet to
have any issues.

Those are really the only two things that I do.

THanks

[qmailtoaster] How to run admin-toaster in HTTPS

2007-05-30 Thread Bill Kwok

Dear all,

I try to turn my admin-toaster webpage to become a HTTPS page by changing my
toaster.conf file. But it turns out asking user name and password for every
page. Here's what my file looks like:

   ScriptAlias /mail/ /usr/share/toaster/cgi-bin/
   Alias /admin-toaster/ /usr/share/toaster/htdocs/admin/
   Alias /stats-toaster/ /usr/share/toaster/htdocs/mrtg/
   Alias /qlogs-toaster/ /usr/share/toaster/htdocs/isoqlog/
   Alias /images-toaster/ /usr/share/toaster/htdocs/images/
   Alias /scripts/ /usr/share/toaster/htdocs/scripts/
   Alias /qmailadmin /usr/share/qmailadmin/

   AddHandler cgi-script .cgi
   AddHandler cgi-script qmailadmin
   DirectoryIndex index.cgi qmailadmin index.html
   Options +Indexes FollowSymLinks +ExecCGI
   Order allow,deny
   Allow from all

   Options -Indexes FollowSymLinks MultiViews
   AllowOverride All
   Order allow,deny
   Allow from all

   AuthType Basic
AuthName "Qmail Toaster v. 1.2 Admin"
   AuthUserFile /usr/share/toaster/include/admin.htpasswd
   require valid-user

.
.
.

Would anyone show me the correct way? Thanks a lot.

Best regards,
Bill

I don't have one, but it could easily be scripted. You still need some
sort of list of users, though. Then just use each user from the list
in your /home/vpopmail/bin/vadduser command in a loop.
