RE: [qmailtoaster] qmailctl stat

2007-06-25 Thread Phil Leinhauser
It would appear that your install missed all of the modules during install
except Squirrelmail. Make sure you run the Deps script. This will make
sure you have all of the dependencies. I would bet that's what you missed.
Then rerun the install. Watch as the modules each install. Toward the end
of each module you'll see a line with "RETURN CODE=" and a number. Anything
OTHER than 0 means you had errors in the installation of that module. Look
above the return for a message saying something about a missing file or
dependency.

Re: [qmailtoaster] Use Qmail???

2007-06-25 Thread Dan McAllister

I am guessing that you have 172.25.13 programmed with a 24-bit netmask?
(check your /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth* files -- or the
appropriate files for your distribution). A 24-bit netmask looks like:
255.255.255.0.

If you're NOT specifying a netmask, then you're getting a 16-bit
netmask (because of the 172 in your address). If that is the case, try
specifying your tcp.smtp rule as:
172.25.:allow,RELAYCLIENT=""

Hope this helps...

It seems that your old server isn't relaying your new server.
Did you config tcp.smtp with RELAYCLIENT="" in your old server?

This is what I put in:

I looked at the Server Log and I got this:

@400046800bef11b8200c tcpserver: ok 32374

<[EMAIL PROTECTED]::> remote
 rcpt <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> :

@400046800bf02dffbfcc tcpserver: end 32374 status 0

I changed the it to 65.77.22.250:allow,RELAYCLIENT="" Still would not work.
What should the tcp.smtp say?

Re: [qmailtoaster] qtp RDJ warning

2007-06-25 Thread A M

Hi,

Or you could stop using RDJ and subscribe OpenProtect

http://saupdates.openprotect.com/

They have a base stand of SARE recomended rules so it's pretty much the ones
I was using in RDJ, if you need anymore just dld them and place them in
/etc/mail/spamassasin/

The rules from there are updated very infrequently, with updates coming

Manny
Spamdyke is not a content filter, so it does not depend from
spamassassin at all .
To be more precisely, spamassassin will be called from simscan as
qmail-queue replacement, or simply BEFORE qmail-queue.

Spamdyke is called from tcpserver, during smtp conversation , just
before qmail-smtpd .
Is to be intended as replacement of rblsmtpd , but could also coexsists
with it .

So the answer is: yes , both of them could be run at the same time.

Have fun,
Davide

[qmailtoaster] How to setup QMTP

2007-06-25 Thread Bill Kwok

Hi all,

I am thinking of using QMTP to send /receive email between our 2 company
email servers.

  1. Does QMTP cause any conflict with the current qmt?
  2. How do I setup QMTP? Should I add the following line (or
something simiar) to my SMTP run script?
 tcpserver -x /etc/qmqp.cdb -u 7770 -g 2108 0 628
  /var/qmail/bin/qmail-qmqpd &
  3. Does 628 a standard port for QMTP communicateion?
  4. Do I need to tell qmt that which server should use QMTP instead of
  SMTP?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,
Bill

Exactly. If you don't want to forward all mail, yo should specify which
domain(s) you want to forward:

somedomain.com:10.1.1.1

If the new box is receiving mails from other hosts, you should create there
domain in /var/qmail/control/rcpthosts, or they will be banned.

QMT-ISO-1.3.0 has been released. Major changes are that it's now
updated for the latest Cent4.5 packages. I also fixed a minor issue with
the QmailToaster-Plus downloading and installation since the web address
had changed.

It's up and available for download at http://qmtiso.com

Jake,

You seem to not be aware of the severity (to a point) of the
problem, and the ease of fixing it - essentially, the text file
giving the chronology of installation of the packages is
incorrect, causing a number of errors on the qtp-newmodel script,
and essentially making it near impossible to execute an upgrade.
All that needs to be changed is the text file on the website
providing the order of execution of the RPMs (the list is
currently, incorrectly, alphabetized, instead of the proper order).

Thus, as far as I can tell, the script itself does not need much
changing, just the file it depends on.
I do understand Harry. I have no control over the current.txt file
or it's generation, and really don't want to invest a lot of time
into the qtp-newmodel script. I've asked Nick to restructure the
current.txt file, and I am toying with the idea of having the qtp-
newmodel script download the current.txt file then reorganize it in
the correct order. If I go this route, this may take a little
while. I'll be flying to Ohio for work on Wednesday, and then to
North Carolina on Thursday. I'll try and work on it some more
during the flights, but I won't promise anything.
Thanks for the info and suggestions though. I do take them into
consideration!

Re: [qmailtoaster] pyzor error

2007-06-25 Thread A M

Hi,

I get pyzor error in the logs from time to time and when repoting. (patches
are applied)
I looks to me as the error comes from a fail to reach server error in pyzor
before timeout
kicks in SA. Apparently sometimes the servers respond with connection
refused or something.

I'm looking at my configs and logs, an realized that I turned off Pyzor
last November. Probably for the same error. I've turned it back on, ran
"pyzor discover", and am watching my logs to see if the error comes back
up. I'll let you know more if I find anything out.

I just looked, and I've been getting the same error as well. Never even
noticed it before. I'll try and ask on the Pyzor mailing list to see if
anyone has a suggestion.

Re: [qmailtoaster] QTP-0.2.11-1.3.14

2007-06-25 Thread Jake Vickers

Harry Zink wrote:

Jake,

You seem to not be aware of the severity (to a point) of the problem,
and the ease of fixing it - essentially, the text file giving the
chronology of installation of the packages is incorrect, causing a
number of errors on the qtp-newmodel script, and essentially making it
near impossible to execute an upgrade. All that needs to be changed is
the text file on the website providing the order of execution of the
RPMs (the list is currently, incorrectly, alphabetized, instead of the
proper order).

Thus, as far as I can tell, the script itself does not need much
changing, just the file it depends on.
I do understand Harry. I have no control over the current.txt file or
it's generation, and really don't want to invest a lot of time into the
qtp-newmodel script. I've asked Nick to restructure the current.txt
file, and I am toying with the idea of having the qtp-newmodel script
download the current.txt file then reorganize it in the correct order.
If I go this route, this may take a little while. I'll be flying to Ohio
for work on Wednesday, and then to North Carolina on Thursday. I'll try
and work on it some more during the flights, but I won't promise anything.
Thanks for the info and suggestions though. I do take them into
consideration!

Greetings,

Has anyone on this list had experience utilizing the qmail-spp setup?
If so, would you care to share your experience(s)?

qmail-spp seems has a lot of plugins. but I am afraid those plugins
overlapping with current qt features
likeauthrequired : Forces SMTP authentication it also available
on qt by adding line

export REQUIRE_AUTH=1

on your supervise/smtp/run

Have fun,
Davide

Re: [qmailtoaster] spamassassin-toaster-3.2.1 Failed dependencies

2007-06-25 Thread Johannes Weberhofer, Weberhofer GmbH

In my patched qmail-toaster Version for OSS I have the following line added to
the spec file some time ago:

Requires: perl-Digest-SHA1 perl-HTML-Parser perl-Net-DNS perl-libwww-perl
perl-IO-Zlib procmail

This seems to work.

Best regards,
Johannes
