As far as I saw there are no outgoiong issues with DK. This way we still
get

Failure to sign will cause outbound signing to silently fail as well.

Not sure this is a good idea.

I've also been checking DKIM and I'm thinking of taking some tests
during

I'll post news on this as I go along.

There are no stable/working DKIM patches thus far.

I know error 451 is temporary error and the sender mail server will try
again but I didn;t rcvd his first email. and later on he can sent me
another email

I am just curious what is

[qmailtoaster] Odd request.

2007-07-03 Thread James Jarrett
Ok, here is a bit of an odd request.

our school owns two domains

really-big-domain.org

and

little.org

(just examples)

Is there an easy way to automagically make any piece of email addressed

[EMAIL PROTECTED]

autoforward to

[EMAIL PROTECTED]

I know I could do a forward for each and every user, but we have more
than 400 and I'd like to keep things simpler than that.

Any ideas?

Sure. I would block via iptables myself, but you could also use badmailfrom

And here's a guide on Perl regex:

Or you can just dig through the rules and find examples Here's some
of mine:

score JV_Phaarm_Drug 10.0

URI test (yes, I know about the period):

uri JV_Pharm1l_Drug /sassantrappy.com/i
describeJV_Pharm1l_Drug Pill ad web link
score JV_Pharm1l_Drug 10.0

A rawbody test (catches HTML as well):
rawbody JV_Pharm2f_Drug /Pha*rma*cy/i
describeJV_Pharm2f_Drug catches another pill ad mispelling
score JV_Pharm2f_Drug 2.9

A subject line test:
header JV_Pharm3i_Drug Subject =~ /The Ultimate Online
Pharmaceutical/i

describeJV_Pharm3i_Drug Pill ad subject line
score JV_Pharm3i_Drug 15.0

A test to match specific mailers:

header JV_Pharm3p_Drug X-Mailer =~ /The Bat/i
describeJV_Pharm3p_Drug Pill ad mailer program signature
score JV_Pharm3p_Drug 6.0
This guy used his name in a signature for search engine optimization
spam (LONG time ago):

bodyJV_Junk1s /Javier Russo/i
describeJV_Junk1s Sorry but I get SPAM from you for search
engines

score JV_Junk1s 1.2

I don't actually have any where I block from a FROM address, since that
changes so often I never felt a need to write anything like that.
My rules are simple and crude. I also don't want to become a guru in
regex. I target specific spam that comes through past everything else.

Hope this helps some.

RE: [qmailtoaster] Odd request.

2007-07-03 Thread Joseph Lundgren
James,

So just to make sure I'm reading this properly

Creating an alias domain doesn't really forward anything anywhere. It
simply says [EMAIL PROTECTED] is the same person as
[EMAIL PROTECTED] Therefore, when mail arrives for
either of those email addresses, the mail goes into a single mail queue.

Several revisions ago, the '/home/vpopmail/bin/vaddaliasdomain' command
was modified to take the arguments in any order. It will simply add the
unknown domain as an alias to the known domain.

Do I need to do any more qmail setup

Nope. Users may check email as either [EMAIL PROTECTED] or
[EMAIL PROTECTED] and they'll fetch the mail from the
user's queue.

Sincerely,

The logs are still there, unless you've deleted them. They're file
files starting with @4. You can look at their creation dates to see
which log to look at, or use qmlog, or even (if you want to see
everything from this user):

cat * | grep [EMAIL PROTECTED] | tai64nlocal

got that, but still I didn't find it.
well if that thing happen again, I'll search the log ASAP

So is qtp-newmodel safe to run now if I installed with qmt-iso 1.2? Or do I

Fixed. You can just edit /opt/qmailtoaster-plus/bin/qtp-sa-update and
change these lines:
$DAILYCRON=/etc/cron.daily/qtp-sa-update
$ORIG=`pwd`

To this:

DAILYCRN=/etc/cron.daily/qtp-sa-update
ORIG=`pwd`

(just remove the $ from the front of those variables) if you don't want to
download the package again. Sorry about that!
The one on the website has been updated.

James,

So just to make sure I'm reading this properly

Creating an alias domain doesn't really forward anything anywhere. It
simply says [EMAIL PROTECTED] is the same person as
[EMAIL PROTECTED] Therefore, when mail arrives for either
of those email addresses, the mail goes into a single mail queue.

Several revisions ago, the '/home/vpopmail/bin/vaddaliasdomain' command was
modified to take the arguments in any order. It will simply add the unknown
domain as an alias to the known domain.

Do I need to do any more qmail setup

Nope. Users may check email as either [EMAIL PROTECTED] or
[EMAIL PROTECTED] and they'll fetch the mail from the user's
queue.

I would suggest downloading the latest version of QTP if you have not

But to answer the other part, yes, the qtp-newmodel script should be
fixed. I ran a test on it here, using ~4 versions ago QMT packages, and
while it did fail the first time I think that was a typo before I
released the final code.

Spamassassin ONLY scores email. It does not do anything else - no
deleting, no moving, etc.
So your score of 5.0 in the local.cf file is for when it should mark it
as spam.
In your simcontrol file, there will be a score (12 or 15 or something).
This is when simscan (not spamassassin) will delete the message.

Hope that helps some.

When installing and it asks you to remove the data from the

all the data, or just the RDJ folder that is in there?

Just the RDJ data. I've been told by the SA devels that Spamassassin is
smart enough to not process the rules twice, but I prefer to not leave

[qmailtoaster] Specific Account Forwarding

2007-07-03 Thread Kyle Quillen
Hello all,

I have a strange request of a customer.

They have their own exchange server that is basically used as a glorified
shared calendar right now. I host their mail for all 150 email accounts.
What they want to do is be able to use their exchange server for say maybe
20 of those accounts but still have my system scan for spam and handle pop
smtp imap etc for the other 130 accounts. So I guess my question is is
there a way to set certain accounts to relay mail to the exchange server
other than having the exchange server pop the mail every 15 minutes?

Would there be a script that would allow me to have the server forward the
mail for those 20 accounts to the exchange server via smtp?

I am not sure if I am asking this right or not but figured someone out there
would be able to help out.

Thanks

Q
