[qmailtoaster] iptables problem
OK, I give up. I realize this is off topic but it's the only real linux forum I'm on. On my QMT machine, I installed Webmin. I also tried to install Backup Exec client. They both use port 10,000 so I went into Webmin and moved the port to 11,111 and opened that in the iptables. I also installed Splunk on port 8000. I saved the iptables file. The problem is that those will close after about 15 minutes and I have to restart iptables but they will keep closing. Anyone have any ideas? No, I don't see anything there. I was thinking iptables had some anti-hacker feature I was working against. I can't find anything in the docs though. It's only the changes I have made are getting shut down. The iptables file isn't being changed but the new entries just seem to die. They are all the standard from QMT build. The only thing I have done beyond the QMT build is add Webmin, Backup exec, and Splunk. If I do an iptables --list, right after I restart iptables, my 3 rules are listed. After a period around 15 minutes, the rules are not in the iptables --list. I haven't been able to time it to see if it's an exact 15 minutes but it seems pretty consistently around then. I looked in the /etc/sysconfig/iptables and the rules are still there.
