I've seen pipelining to check senders (or at least the existence of
Postmaster accounts) but never really saw the benefits of this.

Null senders are an RFC compliance thing. They're used for bounces.
For temporarily changing this to an actual sender - what are you trying
to accomplish?

Subject: [qmailtoaster] Replicated Server Question

As some of you know I am working on bringing up a replicated
server. I am curious if it would be a good idea and/or advisable to
copy the spamassassin database from my older server that has been in
service for a while to the new one so that the new server doesn't
have to 'catch up' with the old one. Catch up meaning that new
server won't have the learning curve that it normally would.

Also, I would like to replicate (sync) some of the other files -
like the spamassassin .cf files, the spamdyke files (/opt/spamdyke/
etc) - things like that.

Suggestions?

Thanks,
Scott

Hi Rajesh,

If you are talking about the squirrelmail plugin to change passwords, that
would not talk to the IMAP server as far as I recall. It would either use
vpopmails command line tools to change the password or else write in the DB
directly?
In any case, while I am sure you can use an MAP server to check authentication
(squirrel and horde can use that for login), I am not aware that IMAP offers a
means to SET a password.

I'm not familiar off hand with this plugin, or how it works. I'm a
little surprised that it would quit working with dovecot though. I don't
see what dovecot would have to do with changing passwords. Wouldn't the

I don't know the definitive answer. I don't believe it's absolutely
