No, LDAP is not possible with Qmailtoaster. You would need to recompile
vpopmail and make some other modifications to enable LDAP.

He just has an alias set up to point to several other addresses. I agree

very impressed with all the prompt and knowledgeable responses.

Yeah, I won't be using vqadmin in the future, it's removed now.

Just to add my 2cents and that's about all it's worth.
If you go into the sql database and change the number 21474836nn
that's in there to say the number of actual accounts it will fix it.
The NEVER use vqadmin again. It is a pain in the A$$.

I use PHPMyAdmin for my MySQL but you use what ever you're comfy with.

Now for my 2 cents. KILL vqadmin it's busted period and has been for years.
I use QControl, buy the full version like I did if you have multiple
domains.

It's worth it in my opinion. And with that you get the man that knows whaaaz

Okay, I'll get off my soap box now.

I wouldn't be concerned with it. That value is bogus on my QMT hosts as
well. I have either 0 or 21474836nn, with no apparent rhyme or reason.
Some little bug in there I expect, but it doesn't appear to hinder
operation at all.

FWIW, vqadmin is also broken at this point. It's reportedly ok for
viewing things, but don't go updating anything with it. I don't even
install it myself. You don't really need it. If you want a gui tool for
that sort of thing, have a look at qcontrol.

Since you're new to QMT, I would recommend installing qmailtoaster-plus
if you haven't already (http://qtp.qmailtoaster.com), and also install
spamdyke (using the qtp-install-spamdyke script in QTP). There are other
goodies in QTP as well that you'll want to have a look at.

I'll set the 1.3 build environment to use fuzz 0 and rediff the packages

Anyone know if other packages require this? If so, let's move this to

Thanks.

Hi Eric,

The way I see it, this happened:

Jake created the updated package using the same patch he had used for the
original 0.96 build. It is still valid, but the conf file to patch changed
slightly, so the patch hunks have some offset.
Now, for some reason, Fedora's build system enforces patch to run with fuzz=0,
which causes this to break.
All I did was expand the current clamav package, apply the patch without the
fuzzy option and created a new patch by using 'diff -Naur' just like the
original patch from Jake's package.
The only thing that changed is line numbers in the .patch file. The content is
otherwise identical.

So, yes, it is 100% compatible, it works for all distros and I guess
re-creating the patch in this way should always be done to keep these problems
from appearing. However, it does mean one or two more steps for the packager
and, unless you use a system that enforces fuzzy=0, you'd not ever notice it in
the first place.

Pretty close and accurate. One of the updates changed the fuzzy level
and I just haven't gone back to re-diff the code.
Since QMTv2 is using fuzz=0, I guess I could port this change over to
the 1.3 build environment and start to build the packages to suit Fedora
as well.
Thanks for the detailed explanation though - I'm sure someone will
search on this in the future.

You should not have any problems. I believe that vdominfo does not read

vpopmail-toaster, vqadmin-toaster, qmailadmin-toaster and
control-panel-toaster.

Sorry for this much basic questions.. Thanks a ton in advance..

You're looking at the Windows Daemon Tools. daemontools-toaster is like
SysV Init, sort of. It manages the running qmail processes and restarts
them if there is an error. Think "service named restart", but with a
checker that monitors the process and if it dies, restarts it.
qmail-toaster is the actual qmail code, patched and compiled to provide
SMTP and POP3 service.
control-panel-toaser is the web framework you get when you go to
http://your-toaster/admin-toaster
vpopmail-toaster is the vpopmail package, which handles the virtual
users and other mailbox functions. vqadmin is a web app that allows you
to create, edit, delete, etc. domains from the vpopmail database.
qmailadmin-toaster is the web interface used to manage a domain - you
see this when you go to http://your-toaster/qmailadmin

Re: [qmailtoaster] Re: Problem using qtp-newmodel on fedora 11

2010-10-06 Thread Martin Waschbüsch

Re: [qmailtoaster] Re: Problem using qtp-newmodel on fedora 11

2010-10-06 Thread Martin Waschbüsch
Something weird is going on.

When I try the following:

cd SOURCES
tar xjvf clamav-0.96.3.tar.bz2
bunzip2 clamav-0.96.0.patch.bz2
cd clamav-0.96.3
patch -p1 <../clamav-0.96.0.patch

I get some warnings about offsets / fuzz, but it is alright.

Now, if I use the command options that show up for you (forcing fuzz to be 0):

/usr/bin/patch -s -p1 --fuzz=0 <../clamav-0.96.0.patch

I get the same error message.

Then I wondered why on Centos, it does not use these options and searched fro
them in the SOURCE folder:

grep -R -l -i 'fuzz=0' *

No file contains that.

Now, this looks like there is some ENV variable set on your system that adds
parameters to patch by default that does not exist on other systems.

After some google, I found that indeed 'fuzz=0' is indeed part of the default
rpmbuild environment on Fedora.
Now, there are two possible solutions for it, we could re-base the patch (e.g.
make sure no fuzz occurs) and repackage the thing, OR you could try adding

%define _default_patch_fuzz 2

to the spec file and see if that helps!

I'll work on the no-fuzz package in the meantime - perhaps Jake can put that on
the server...

2010-10-06 Thread Martin Waschbüsch
Actually, I wonder about that one:

Both the patch and the source tarball come in the SRPM, so why would the patch
command behave differently on this setup?

What is the content of the clamd.conf.rej file?

E.g. you should find that in e.g. BUILD/clamav-0.96.3/etc/

the BUILD dir, according to your output, is in /root/rpmbuild/

If you're in a hurry, you could do them manually.

I'm glad to know the error isn't unionfs related. You might have the
same problem upgrading manually, in which case we really need to find
out what the problem is. Perhaps there's a problem the more recent
clamav-toaster packages on all fedora versions.

Let us know if you find out anything w/ a manual build.

[qmailtoaster] Re: How can I remove spamhaus.org as RBL in addition to /var/qmail/control ?

2010-10-06 Thread Eric Shubert
It's in the /etc/spamdyke/spamdyke.conf file. You really shouldn't be
removing it there though. Any authenticated user will bypass spamdyke's
filters. If you're seeing this message trying to submit/send a message
and you're using spamdyke, you have a problem with authentication. The
most common problem with authentication is not specifying the entire
email address in the account name field (which I've done numerous times).

Where else can I remove spamhaus as rbl ?

It is not hardcoded in. It is defined in the
/var/qmail/control/blacklists file. If you're using Spamdyke, you
may need to remove it from there as well.
If you remove it from the blacklists file, stop qmail (qmailctl
stop) and then check to ensure the SMTP processes complete and exit
nicely (qmailctl stat). Once everything is down, start the service
again (qmailctl start).

Grab the appropriate variables via formail (ala procmail) and execute a

[qmailtoaster] Clarification on Qmail-Toaster packages

2010-10-06 Thread senthil vel
Hi All,
I am a system administrator using qmail toaster for few years. The
installation, configuration and everything is going without any pain. But I
am having desire to understand things properly. We are using several
packages for a perfect server setup. I just wanted to know the roles and
responsibilities of each packages. I searched in the internet and found the
following details.

zlib -- general purpose compression library
daemontools-toaster -- we can back up our physical CD/DVD discs into
"virtual discs" (Not sure)
ucspi-tcp-toaster -- tcpserver and tcpclient are easy-to-use command-line
tools for building TCP client-server applications.
vpopmail-toaster -- to manage virtual email domains email accounts on your
qmail or Postfix mail server.
libdomainkeys-toaster -- The source code for the latest libdomainkeys
implementation
libsrs2-toaster -- SRS library from the original designer of SRS. It
implements the Sender Rewriting Scheme
qmail-toaster -- ??
courier-authlib-toaster -- set of programs which handle authenticating login
requests from the IMAP and POP3 services
courier-imap-toaster -- Courier-IMAP provides IMAP access to Maildir
mailboxes.
autorespond-toaster -- Autorespond is autoresponder/vacation type tool that
works well with vdelivermail and qmailadmin.
control-panel-toaster -- ??
ezmlm-toaster -- An easy-to-use and high-speed mailing list manager
qmailadmin-toaster -- software package that provides a web interface for
managing a qmail system with virtual domains.
qmailmrtg-toaster -- Log to Graph generator
maildrop-toaster -- Maildrop reads a mail message from standard input/file
then delivers the message to your mailbox.
isoqlog-toaster -- is an MTA log analysis program written in C. It designed
to scan qmail, postfix, sendmail and exim logfile and produce usage
statistics in HTML
squirrelmail-toaster -- Provides webmail access
spamassassin-toaster -- Open Source mail filter, written in Perl, to
identify spam using a wide range of heuristic tests on mail headers and body
text
clamav-toaster -- Clam AntiVirus is an open source (GPL) anti-virus toolkit
for UNIX, designed especially for e-mail scanning on mail gateways
ripmime-toaster -- to extract attachments out of a MIME encoded email
packages.
simscan-toaster -- Simscan is a simple program that enables the qmail smtpd
service to reject viruses, spam, and block attachments during the SMTP
conversation
vqadmin-toaster -- vqadmin is a web based control panel that allows system
administrators to perform actions which require root access for example,
adding and deleting domains. The cgi is authenticated using Apache style
htpasswd files.

Can anyone just correct this if i am wrong? Also what is daemontools-toaster
is used for? What is the difference between vpopmail-toaster,
vqadmin-toaster, qmailadmin-toaster and control-panel-toaster.

Sorry for this much basic questions.. Thanks a ton in advance..

Thanks and Regards,
S.Senthilvel

Hello,

ie

Re: [qmailtoaster] re acceptable Languages

2010-10-06 Thread Martin Waschbüsch
As far as I know, in spamassassin you can only list the languages you want to
be blocked, not the ones you want to pass? So, I hope you did not provide
inverted information? ;-)

Also, note that this feature like all others probably just adds points to the
score, so if it does not add enough points to reach the threshold score, mail
will still pass. In that case you would have to up the score associated with
this filter.
