You need to have the domains you receive mail for in the rcpthosts file.
This should be a simple list of the domain names that are also contained
in the virtualdomains file. For example, it should contain (at least):

tmgranada.es

if you configure this file with my domain, I'm not an open relay but no
output to other domains not listed
What settings for this??

If you're unable to send to external domains, then you're having a
problem with authenticating. Only authenticated sessions are permitted
to send to non-local domains.

What client program(s) are you using to send?
I expect that sending from squirrelmail will work, because that needs no
authentication in the stock configuration (which will probably change in
a future version).

Please describe the client configuration you're using, and we'll see
about fixing that up. Be sure to include the entire email address in the
account field. Omitting the @... part is a common mistake.

thanks for everything

You're welcome.

Did you check both rcpthosts and morercpthosts files? They must contain

Did you run

If you have this string in your smtp logs, then we're hitting the

Take care, an empty line in these files is a wild card!!

Re: [qmailtoaster] Re: POP3 Authentication on CentOS 5.5 64Bit

2010-11-19 Thread Kevin Qiu

Hello,

Increasing the softlimit value fixed the issue. I need stop the qmail
and kill the left process, then start the qmail. If I use the command
'service qmail restart', it will not be working with the new softlimit
value. That's why I can't increase the value. Now the value is 6400.
Now, the qmail is working fine.

Thank you very much Martin and Erik.

I had another problem with imap-ssl.
40004ce63fe601874604 couriertls: accept: error:1406B0CB:SSL

Just one mail client(foxmail) can't connect the port 993. Outlook and
Thunderbird work fine. I found the error log from google
(https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8386).
How can I fix this issue? May imap-ssl turn off the SSLv2 connection?
The mail client(foxmail) works fine in 32bit Server, and it is very
popular client.

Thanks for ringing the bell, Martin.
When building packages on 64 bit hosts, you should specify the arch,
for a number of reasons (this problem being one of them). You should
use --target=x86_64 with the rpmbuild command.

The simplest and most reliable (least error prone) way of dealing
with this is to simply use qtp-newmodel to rebuild/reinstall the
package. You have more important things to be thinking about. ;)

Did you use --replacefiles and --replacepkgs options when you

These are the values on a stock 64-bit QMT (created via qtp-newmodel):
imap4/run:/usr/bin/softlimit -m 4800 \

Please start a new thread for different problems (I notice you hyjacked

Courier will not be used in future QMT versions, and I doubt that anyone
will be looking into this problem with Courier.

Dovecot is being used by many people in their QMT, and will be the stock
IMAP software in QMTv2. I expect that dovecot does not have the problem
you're seeing, but I'm not certain about that.

See
http://wiki.qmailtoaster.com/index.php/Replacing_Courier_IMAP_with_Dovecot_IMAP
for instructions on setting up dovecot.

There is also an older version of dovecot in the qtp repo:
http://qtp.qmailtoaster.com/repos/SRPMS/dovecot-1.0.10-1.3.1.src.rpm
That hasn't been built for 64-bit yet though. I would recommend going
with the latest 1.2.x version.

I don't believe chkuser has any impact with this.

You don't need to restart qmail when modifying spamdyke configuration
files. They're picked up on the fly. Nice. (Overhead is negligible, as
they're probably all cached by the kernel)

As to your problem, what are you trying to accomplish? If you're trying
to block spam with forged from addresses, you want to simply add your
domain to the blacklist_senders file:

@mydomain.com
That is all you need to do. No whitelisting is necessary because
authenticated sessions bypass all filters, and your users all
authenticate when sending.

I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish with the recipients

[qmailtoaster] Re: re spamdyke

2010-11-19 Thread Eric Shubert
The simplest way to deal with this is to change your catchall
configuration. In qmailadmin (web app), user accounts, click either the
set catchall deleted or set catchall bounce link. That controls what
happens to email for which there's no user account.

Deleting misaddressed email is not friendly to the sender (and I think
goes against standards), but it eliminates backscatter (along with
legitimate bounces). It also gives spammers no information they can use
to clean up their lists. I think this is not a good thing, but some
people disagree.

Bouncing misaddressed email contributes to backscatter, but gives
spammers feedback on bogus addresses (provided the return address is
legitimate).

Personally, I use the postmaster account for catchall (the default). I
get practically no spam there (thanks to spamdyke), and I can forward
misaddressed email to their intended account, while adding an forward
for the misaddressed message (for the next time). This is only practical
for SMB and personal servers, not so much for ISPs.

In addition to spamdyke, you can use the badmailto filter to reject some
invalid accounts, while still using the catchall account. See
http://wiki.qmailtoaster.com/index.php/Account_verification_using_badmailto

pop3/run:exec /usr/bin/softlimit -m 6400 \ #If not, erro from mail

[qmailtoaster] Short Entry fileds in Mod and Add user

2010-11-19 Thread Tony White

Hi folks,

FYI

QMT Admin has issues with the mod_user and add_user forms if you need more
than 30
characters as a description (gecos).
The database struct is for 48 chars in the field not 30 as in the
CheckFormAddUser function.
For those that would like to change the entry length make the following changes
to these files in

/usr/share/toaster/vqadmin/html

mod_user.html: line 25 change SIZE=30 to SIZE=48
add_user.html: line 25 change SIZE=30 to SIZE=48

Save the changes and refresh the page.
Now you can use the entire db field for storage.

[qmailtoaster] iphone and smtp-auth

2010-11-19 Thread Tony White

Hello all,
I have just spent the worst 50 minutes trying to get an Apple Iphone 3
to work with smpt-auth.
Has anyone got it to work please? If so how on earth did you do it!
I got his Outlook working in 30 seconds...
