[qmailtoaster] mail server with 7 million accounts
hi i have a client who wishes to put an email server with 7 million accounts say : us...@abc.com, us...@abc.com 1) one email will be sent daily to all these users from masteru...@abc.com with an attached file (less than 50 kb). each file to each user will be different 2) all the users will connect and download the emails via pop3 there will be no other external email traffic to these email accounts ie no emails from outside of the server as i understand i would need a program to generate these emails, attach the file and then send the emails to the users can somebody guide me as to how to go about this. i can put up a cluster of servers for this purpose. thanks rajesh - Qmailtoaster is sponsored by Vickers Consulting Group (www.vickersconsulting.com) Vickers Consulting Group offers Qmailtoaster support and installations. Rajesh, do you know SmtpSend ? It´s a program, that send e-mails by command line (DOS) with attach, subject, etc. You can generate these emails by it. You could also use vpopbull, which comes with vpopmail programs (/home/vpopmail/bin/vpopbull) With it you can directly copy the message (a text file with the headers and body) in the "mail boxes" of users. Hi, I use vpopbull as suggested but add a link to the required file in a folder of the web server. This gives the client the ability to store only 1 file but download it as many times as desired. Hi folks, I am a little confused! I have set the spamdyke max recipients to 50 but emails are stopped at 10! Hi Rajesh, Vpopbull can send the same file to all users. But I guess this is not the requirement here. There should be a backend program which generates these files which needs to be send to the individual email ids. You can alter the program which generates the file to email the files to the corresponding email id just after the generation of the files. You need to make changes to the standard qmailtoaster to make it receive huge number of emails from the machine which sends it.
