[qmailtoaster] Problem with makeiso.sh

2007-10-11 Thread Alessandro Maestri
Hi all.

My name is Alessandro from Rome and I'm new to the world of qmail toaster.

I've installed the QmailToaster-ISO rel. 1.3.1successfully on a virtual
machine. Great!

But I've necessity to made some modifications to the list of OS packages
and in the qmt.tar.gz .

I've commented out httpd, php and mysql-server because the target
machine don't have web server and MySQL server. And I've added in
qmt.tar.gz some other packages like qmail-qfilter and TMDA. I've
modified the 'runonce' script and re-create the qmt.tar.gz.

At this point I've run the 'makeiso.sh' to remake the iso. Belove you
the output of this operation.

But when I've started the creation of new vm the installation procedure
block after I've selected the keyboard type with this message:

CD Not Found
The CentOS-4 i386 CD was not found in any of your drives.
Please insert the CentOS-4 i386 CD and press OK to retry.

Any idea?

Thank's,
Alex.

[qmailtoaster] Problem with makeiso.sh

2007-10-12 Thread Alessandro Maestri
Hi all.
My name is Alessandro from Italy and I've a question for you.

I've installed the last version of QmailToaster-ISO (1.3.1) without big
problem. All done ok.

I've made some modifications on list of OS packages to install and
adding other package to qmail (like qmail-qfilter and TMDA).

Then I've tried to re-make the iso with script 'makeiso.sh' and above
you have the output.
When I've tried to install a new machine with the new ISO I can't
continue after I've selected the keyboard type and the system put on the
screen an error message like

The CentOS-4 i386 CD was not foundin any of your CDROM drives.
Please insert the CentOS-4 i386 CD and press OK to continue.

and I must stop here.
Any idea?

Thank's,
Alex.

If I would to ask to the user the name of the host every time someone

[qmailtoaster] Qmail in cluster

2008-02-27 Thread Alessandro Maestri

Hi all.

Anyone have experience or knows some documents to create an installation
of Qmail in cluster with mix of Solaris machine and Linux machine? Use
of NFS between Solaris and Linux, requirements or other?

Thank's,
Alex.

Re: [qmailtoaster] Qmail in cluster

Thank's Jake.

This is the architecture was projected (not by me ... ;) ):

Sun Cluster with Solaris 9 (for Mysql and NFS)
one pop on Solaris 9
on pop on Red Hat EL4-U2
on SMTP on Red Hat EL4-U2

Is it possible to have an architecture like this? Where can I found some
documents for helping me in this setup?

I've set up these types of machines before for ISPs. Never used
Solaris for the NFS backend, but I'd assume they're stable. Just make
sure you have some type of failover on the NFS side of things.

Re: [qmailtoaster] multilog rotate

2008-11-06 Thread Alessandro Maestri
I've solved qith this workaround.

You need the package logrotate
(ftp://ftp.pbone.net/mirror/ftp.centos.org/4.6/os/i386/CentOS/RPMS/logrotate-3.7.1-6.RHEL4.i386.rpm)
For example the SMTP logs (you can apply this solution to all logs).

# service qmail stop
# cd /tmp
# wget
ftp://ftp.pbone.net/mirror/ftp.centos.org/4.6/os/i386/CentOS/RPMS/logrotate-3.7.1-6.RHEL4.i386.rpm
# rpm -Uvh logrotate-3.7.1-6.RHEL4.i386.rpm
...
# sed -e 's/t s$LOGSIZE n$LOGCOUNT/t/g'
/var/qmail/supervise/smtp/log/run > /var/qmail/supervise/smtp/log/run.new
# mv /var/qmail/supervise/smtp/log/run
/var/qmail/supervise/smtp/log/run.orig
# mv /var/qmail/supervise/smtp/log/run.new /var/qmail/supervise/smtp/log/run
# chown qmaill.qmail /var/qmail/supervise/smtp/log/run*
# chmod 0755 /var/qmail/supervise/smtp/log/run*
# cat<>/etc/logrotate.conf
>/var/log/qmail/smtp/current {
>daily
>rotate 15
>compress
>copytruncate
>}
>EOF
# chmod 644 /etc/logrotate.conf
# echo "0 0 * * * /usr/sbin/logrotate /etc/logrotate.conf" >>
/var/spool/cron/root
# chmod 600 /var/spool/cron/root
# service crond restart
# service qmail start

And that's all.

[qmailtoaster] From sendmail to qmail

2008-11-18 Thread Alessandro Maestri
Hi all.

I've a question: I'm working in an upgrade of a mailing system from
sendmail to qmail.

The translation from old version of user mailbox to the new is done but
I'm in trouble with the translation of the 'smtpd.rules' of sendmail in
rules for 'tcp.smtp' of qmail.

Anyone have made this before? There's any procedure that make the
translation automatically? Have you any suggestion to make this job?

Thank's,
Alex.

OK. Here you some examples of lines in smtpd.rules of actual sendmail.

authorization to send messages with that FROM

deny:ALL:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:ALL

...
deny:ALL EXCEPT [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED]:ALL:ALL EXCEPT

The list is very long but all lines are similar like that.

Can someone help me to understand these lines?
