anyway if your clients/users have static IP/Network, you can add their

Thanks for all the help. My POP based clients are able to send and I've

[qmailtoaster] Trouble authenticating POP3 accounts

2007-09-13 Thread Ron Dyck
I've just installed qmailtoaster on a new box using CentOS 5064.

Mail seems to work fine with IMAP but I'm having trouble with POP3 accounts.

When attempting to authenticate on a send, I get:

The server response was: sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed
rcpthosts (#5.5.3 - chkuser)

When attempting to retrieve I get:

The POP server mail.webbtech.net rejected the password for user

I did find the archive you mentioned thanks. That's helped in sending to
local and receiving, but I am not able to send to remote addresses from a
POP account. Then I get the following:

The server response was: sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed
rcpthosts (#5.5.3 - chkuser)

Probably a separate item

Appreciate the help.

K, a little new at this and appreciate the patience.
My /etc/tcprules.d.tcp.smtp is included below, and I'm not sure how to send
using smtp-auth

Also, I have not created the domain keys as per install instructions.

127.:allow,RELAYCLIENT=,DKSIGN=/var/qmail/control/domainkeys/%/private,RBLSMTPD=,NOP0FCHECK=1
:allow,BADMIMETYPE=,BADLOADERTYPE=M,CHKUSER_RCPTLIMIT=50,CHKUSER_WRONGRCPTLIMIT=10,QMAILQUEUE=/var/qmail/bin/simscan,DKSIGN=/var/qmail/control/domainkeys/%/private,NOP0FCHECK=1

[qmailtoaster] Trouble sending with POP3 account to remote recipients **Please Help URGENT**

2007-09-13 Thread Ron Dyck
Hi,
Started a thread regarding authenticated and have resolved a few issues but
one remains.

I cannot send to remote recipients from a POP3 account.

I've added the domainkeys as per instructions but still get the following
error when attempting to send from a POP account:

The server response was: sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed
rcpthosts (#5.5.3 - chkuser)

It's been suggested that I try sending using smtp-auth or adding my local
network to /etc/tcprules.d/tcp.smtp

I'm not clear on how to accomplish either of the above.

Any help is really appreciated, my clients are getting impatient G

ron

It depends on which client you're using for SMTP-AUTH. It's already in
QMT, so in your SMTP settings (server settings in Outlook I believe)
check the box that says my server requires authentication. It's the
 same as the POP information.

Aahh, solved it. This is different from previous installs of qmail. No
doubt an advantage for users trying to send emails without first having to
authenticate with typical send/receive.
Thanks for the help!!

Fwd: [qmailtoaster] .qmail files obsolete ?

2007-05-11 Thread Ron Dyck

If you know what you are doing you can still use .qmail files.
It's not recommended though, since almost all of the .qmail
functionality is covered by the DB method now.

I too am used to the .qmail files. Can someone direct me to any
documentation on the DB method?

[qmailtoaster] Greylisting

2007-05-09 Thread Ron Dyck

I'm new to qmailtoaster, though I have been using qmail for a number
of years. I'm now in the process of setting up a new server and have
implemented qmailtoaster.

I'm considering greylisting to cut down on spam and have breifly
looked at a few implementations. Does anyone have suggestions as to
which implementation/experience in set-up etc.?
