[qmailtoaster] migration

2012-04-03 Thread Toni Cosma

hi list,

I have a qmt box that I'm using as an gateway for my company and therefore
the server have 2 network cards, WAN and LAN.
We want to implement a dedicated firewall and we also have a 8 ip's subnet.
Can someone guide me what would be the best way to migrate our qmt box
behind the nat.
And maybe what I need to modify[config files] on my server, besides the
ip address. :)

Thank you.

Good move.

Off hand, there's not much to do on QMT. I think the normal networking
stuff (IP, subnet, gateway) will take care of it, provided that you're
not changing any DNS stuff. Check your QMT firewall too. If you're
using the one which comes with QMT, you'll need to make a few changes
there, including opening it up to certain private addresses (the
subnets you're using on your DMZ/LAN).

You might want to configure SNAT on the firewall so that your QMT
appears to be on a certain one of your 5 (usable) addresses, not the
same one as your LAN traffic goes out on.

Once you've moved, you'll probably want to turn off IP forwarding in
the QMT host, to harden security a (very) little bit.

Hi Eric and thank you for your answer.

Actually I must change also the real IP, and for that reason I must
change the MX record in our dns servers.
We will allocate a brand new IP from our 8IP's subnet that is different
from the one which the server is running right now.

Which will be the best way to do this?
I was thinking to declare a new MX record with different
priority[higher] in our dns servers and after the propagation is done I will

make the changes in our qmt box.

Do you have any other suggestions ?

Thank you.

I have had a look at Monitorix, and had it running at one point. I was
interested in it for monitoring multiple VMs. I like the graphs and web
interface. I don't like that it requires the whole kit and kaboodle (apache
etc) on each machine that's being monitored. I like the architecture of
ganglia much better, although ganglia is geared toward clusters to begin

collectl is presently my monitor of choice. I was looking for something which

impressive piece of software, and it's lean on resources.

Monitoring is something I'd like to address with QMT at some point, but it's
still a back burner item. If Jordi would like to provide us with something
that would be an optional package at this point though, he's more than
welcome to join the devel list, where we could assist with his efforts.

Thanks for bringing this up, CJ.

I will mention it, and leave it up to him. What is the address to join the

Hi Adam,

When you create a new mail adress using vadduser command and you don`t
specify the entire email adress for that user, then the command will
automatically look for the defaultdomain file in
../vpopmail/etc/defaultdomain to see if a default domain name already
exists. If so, it will create the email adress on that domain existing
in the defaultdomain. You can use same user on several virtual domains,
the difference it`s made by authentification, meaning that users of the
domaind contained in defaultdomain can authentify without need to
specify the entire email adress.

Not an easy way, no. At the CLI you need to feed the real message to
sa-learn and tell it that it's ham, and the other message needs to be
fed to sa-learn and told it's spam.

Hi Jake,

You have something screwy with your folder/permissions. It should
create the folder when you run that as the vpopmail user. Check to make

Oh.

I would remove all users and domains first, then try again with new

If that's still not working, then to remove and reinstall toaster
packages, remove all users and domains first, then:

You have something screwy with your folder/permissions. It should
create the folder when you run that as the vpopmail user. Check to make
sure you have a /home/vpopmail directory and the permissions are
correct. Also check to see if you have the .spamassassin folder in
vpopmail's dir (remember to use ls -al)

Seems that also my ../send/current have some errors

[qmailtoaster] yahoo and gmail spam

2009-09-11 Thread Toni Cosma

Hi list,

I have migrated my old slack qmail server on a brand new cent os 5.3
qmailtoaster server.
The new server has also a new IP address. I have about 30 mail domains.
My problem is when my clients send emails to yahoo or gmail accounts
they are
delivered into spam folder.

any suggestion would be appreciated

Toni

  Implement
Domain Key, DKIM, and Join Yahoo
Feedback Loop, check if your ip is on blacklist too. The company who
does
everyone spam scoring is called Return Path, there really expensive but
there
site has all this information on there site.

[qmailtoaster] ezmlm + mysql support

2009-08-25 Thread Toni Cosma
Hi list,

This is my first post on this list.
I want to rebuild ezmlm-toaster + mysql support.
I need to mention that I am new with CentOS, until now I was working with
slackware OS and almost everything is different
at the commands level.

I do not know how to rebuild ezmlm with mysql support.

Thx
