Dear Glen, What MUA are you using to send mail to your local server ? Did u try to send mail on 587 port, try to send mail through telnet from your local system within the lan. And just watch the log tail -f /var/log/qmail/submission/current Did you got nay error when you was trying to send mail to your server through locally. What is in /etc/tcprules.d/tcp.smtp paste it here. If you feel there is a problem of spamdyke then you can disable for moment and try it to send mails. Dear List, I have 1 qmail server, we are sending more than 5 to 6 lakh mails daily, DNS and MX record are very much proper, I have qmail+mailscanner+clamav and i need to archive these mails also, But problem is that mail are going very slowly. You probably will not get much help here, since this mailing list is for Qmailtoaster servers. I would suggest finding a mailing list/forum for mailscanner and asking your question there.

You need to find where the bottleneck or limited resource is, then change the configuration to eliminate the constraint. When things run slowly, it's often the result of the application waiting for something. It could be waiting for a variety of things. The first and easiest things to check are cpu and memory. 'top' shows you much of what's going on in those arenas. Next I'd check the imap and imap-ssl logs for indications of a problem or wait of some kind. If you only experience slowness when the number of users is large, then it's possible that each use is using a resource that is limited, such as a mysql connection (for authentication). I'm not sure where you'd look to see what's going on there, but the mysql log would be a good place to start looking. As per your requirement linux system which is you are going to install with qmail toaster. In that you have to write fetchmail to send mail to your exchange server. and exchange server will send mail to outside through this qmail server, That setting is in your exchange that send mail to qmail server. Qmail server will send mail to outside world either through your online server if you have took shared server, Or if you have your own static ip, You can create A and MX pointer for the same.. If you want to send mail to outside world from exchange the there should be some setting that you have to define your smtp host, i.e your linux qmail server. Once your mail come to your linux qmail server it will qmail job to send that mail to respective domain of outside world.
