That's what it's supposed to do. What you want is Shift+F2.

This one's pretty good:

[Qt-creator] Navigating inside Editor question or suggestion

2009-12-21 Thread Christian Dähn
Hi,

inside Qt Creator I miss the feature of jumping to the next/previous
occurrence of the word under the cursor.

Is this already possible with Qt Creator?

I'm programming since 17 years now and am used to have a simple
shortcut to jump directly to the next occurrence of the current word -
e.g. by just pressing Alt+',' or Alt+'.'.

Anybody suggesting me to use Ctrl+F should consider that the search
doesn't work with just one keystroke - you have to select the word,
then press Ctrl+F, then Enter to start the search and then you have
to use (Shift+)F3 to go forward/backward.

Further I'm really disappointed about how F2 and F4 works -
F2 seems to have serious problems to find the occurrences of
methods (or I just don't know how to use it) and F4 cannot switch
between method declaration (.h file) and implementation (.cpp)
correctly - it often jumps just to the file, not to the correct position.

ciao,
Chris

PS: I'm seriously interested to write own plugins for Qt Creator -
especially a plugin to add more editor functions and shortcuts.
Where could I start or: Is there a HowTo or a documentation how
to write plugins for creator?

It gets to a point where it build moc from the original qt source dir
(which no longer exists) and decides to start using the path to qmake
from my original Qt build directory:

Snipped (and annotated by me) from my qtcreator build output:

   (cd /sandbox/qt-creator/targetfs-root/targetfs-base/src/tools/moc &&
   make)
   make[5]: Entering directory `/sandbox/qt4.6/src/tools/moc'

   /sandbox/qt-everywhere-opensource-src-4.6.0/bin/qmake -spec
   ../../../mkspecs/linux-g++ -unix -o Makefile moc.pro   # <
   wrong! This qmake path refers to the original Qt source dir. I did
   use the correct qmake (ie. the one that was installed in
   /sandbox/qt4.6/bin/qmake)

   make[5]: /sandbox/qt-everywhere-opensource-src-4.6.0/bin/qmake:
   Command not found # < error doe to previous incorrect qmake path
   being referenced.

Note that I have set QTDIR, QMAKESPEC in the build environment. I'm also
specifying the Qt prefix in qt.conf and setting the correct paths for
QMAKE, QMAKE_INCDIR_QT, QMAKE_LIBDIR_QT in qmake.conf.

Anyways, I'm reviewing my Qt install (again) to be sure I did things
correctly.

Thanks for any suggestions.

[Qt-creator] SIGNAL-completion in qtcreator-1.3.80 for QState

2009-12-21 Thread Wilhelm Meier
Hi,

if I try to use the code-completion for the signal entered(), e.g.

  QObject::connect(off, SIGNAL(entered()), a, SLOT(foo()));

the qtcreator doesn't list the entered() signal for completion. Other
signals (e.g. finished()) are listed.

What's wrong here?

Recently I released http://srchiliteqt.sourceforge.net/ which adds
highlighting support to a qt text editor by relying on GNU
Source-highlight (http://www.gnu.org/software/src-highlite/) which
already supports glsl...

I don't know how to integrate it into qt-creator, though, but it might
be worth trying, and if I can provide help I'd do that with pleasure :)

cheers
Lorenzo

Preferences->Environment->General->External Editor.

Unfortunately we don't have any UI for defining the mime type <-> editor
mapping in Qt Creator yet.

[Qt-creator] How to define the external editor

2009-12-21 Thread Kuiper, Luuk
Hi all,

A simple question (I think): how can I define what 'external editor' I want to
use, when using 'Open in External Editor'?

And, is it possible to define that all files, with file names matching a
certain pattern, to be opened
automatically with that external editor?

Yes, and typing the path to the "qmake" by hand in the preferences (instead of
browsing with the "Choose" button, because that would resolve the symbolic link
to "qmake-4.5" first).
