Debbie do you have trunk control?

I’m a C5/6 and this sounds pretty amazing to me that you can walk even 20 ft
or 1 ft actually being a C4/5.

Do they have a web site?

Hi everyone! My first trip was successful. My brother drove my van with me
to Southern California, the trip took two days. While I was there I was
able to go to dynamics . They specialize in making walking braces. They
say clients that are C7 and lower benefit the most from them. If I go for
six weeks in October, they will be able to send me home with them. Because
I am a C4/5 they will really only be good for exercising. Once I'm in it, I
will be able to walk with a walker about 25 yards. Has anyone heard of
Heidi Von Belts? I was able to talk with her when I was out there and she
says go for the braces! They say Medicare will pay for them. I'll let you
know if I go for it. I had a relative drive my van home, and I flew back.
My sister was with me and I don't know what I would have done without her!
My flight from Denver to Cody, Wyoming was canceled and I had a hard time
getting home the same day. I never could have dealt with it alone. It sure
would be easier to travel without my van but I couldn't find one to rent for
less than $100 a day! That's enough for now.
Debbie

[QUAD-L] permobil street

2007-06-24 Thread Daniel Vachon
At 09:14 AM 6/24/2007 -0700, KK said something that elicited my response:

Site has reviews from owners. 12MPH - burning rubber!

  http://www.usatechguide.org/itemreview.php?itemid=1117

Actually it says 12km/h which translates to 7.44 mph.

Am I the only one thats bumped someone in a crowd? At 12 miles an hour I'd
start doing broken bones. Awesome chair but I like my centerwheel configuration
with separate legs cause mine dont match and I have protection on the sides of
my legs. Guess it is a matter of what you're use to. I take drugs so I can't
depend on not hitting stuff as a talent. I'm not far from needing a helmet..lol.

Mark this is cool ? do you have any idea of the cost of one ?? perhaps the
only drawback is that it may be dangerous in a crash being so small.

Hi Marie Franc,
Welcome to the Q-L, lots of good people plus informative. About flying, you
have to let the airline people put you on the plane, we are working on being
able to stay in our chair. Hopefully it's just a matter of time. Have a great
time! I'm Lindaf, living with a C4-5 complete in NorthWest IN, I live alone in
an Apt, which I love.

[QUAD-L] permobil street

2007-06-24 Thread theomen723
i recently tried out the permobil street.  it was the smoothest ride i've ever
experienced.  i'm thinking about getting it because i'm always having to zoom
around the college campus.  the seat height is a liitle tall though.  does
anyone own one?  any trouble with it?
