do you happen to have falci's statistic sheet? after 3 years of severe pain, I was diagnosed a few weeks ago w/ a syrinx. curious about his success rate. I am currently using a wound vac that is leased from KCI, the company that makes them. it is a small box about 8in. x 6 x 4. The cost? $3000 per month! I watched Bush say children have always been able to go to the ER for treatment and there shouldn't be federal funding to guarentee health care for children. Along with his budget cuts in health care, he has been removing the safety nets put in place under Johnson and Nixon. America now ranks 41 in health care among industrialized nations. Yet America spends more healthcare dollars than the top 20 nations combined. Ohyea, I forgot we have those people selling health insurance that need to be supported. Last March it bottomed me out we cannot get it to stay inflated, I think I need 6 cushions replaced. I really miss the lateral rotation. HEY GANG JUST THOUGHT I'D GIVE AN UPDATE ON MY VAN. I DID RECEIVE IT ON AUG 8TH. I DROVE W/ THE INSTRUCTOR ON AUG 9TH FOR 3 HOURS AND EVERYTHING SEEMED GREAT. STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT AND WHEN IT TURNED GREEN MY VAN WOULDN'T GO! THE BACKUP BRAKE SYSTEM LOCKED UP, IT WOULDN'T ACCELERATE, IT WOULDN'T SHIFT, IT WOULDN'T RELEASE MY EZ LOCK, AND TO TOP IT OFF IT WOULDN'T TURN OFF! NO I'M NOT KIDDING! AFTER SETTING AT THE LIGHT FOR AN HOUR THE WRECKER GOT IT LOADED AND BROUGHT IT TO MY HOUSE. INDEPENDENT DRIVING SYSTEMS FROM HOUSTON CAME ON THE 10TH AND TOOK IT BACK TO HOUSTON. THEY TELL ME IT WAS A BLOWN CIRCUIT BREAKER, LOOSE GROUND WIRE AND BAD CONNECTION OF WIRING FROM MY IMS TO IDS. IT'S READY BUT THEY CAN'T TELL ME WHEN THEY WILL DELIVER IT. OH, AND THEY'RE EXPECTING HURRICANE DEAN TO ARRIVE THIS WEEK. I FEEL LIKE I'VE BEEN IN THE MIDDLE OF A 3 RING CIRCUS! SO MUCH FOR DRIVING MY DAUGHTER AROUND THIS SUMMER - SCHOOL STARTS TOMORROW! It's amazing how the smallest things can put us in serious situations. Years ago I had a full size Dodge van and me and my pca loaded up to run an errand but we forgot something in the house. He ran inside to get it and while he was gone smoke began pouring out from under the dash. There were no windows open and it was filling up with smoke fast. When he got back he saw what was happening and got me out pronto. It turned out that a wire had shorted and all the insulation had burned off. Fortunately there were no flames. Bingo. My daughter in law parked too close to me once so I got an old countertop out of the garage and decided to lean it up sideways onto my ramp and roll off it onto my ramp. Hah not quite - the countertop slipped, I went cornerwise and got wedged up against her car - in the summer - in 110 degree heat. Dumb idea. I wiggled my way free after about 30 minutes but really chewed up her car. I went back into the house and woke her up to move it. Just that fast - into and out of the jaws of death. Lucky once more. Nicki I understand how you feel. I have a 2006 rampvan from Braun(chrysler) and I have hand trouble with the conversion portion from Braun since I got it. My dealer , Ability Center , is trying to get Braun to extend the warranty for another 12,000 miles since I just went past my 36,000 mile warranty. I'm not holding my breath. My dealer did say they would take care of the still unresolved problems, if Braun dosen't. ALL I CAN SAY IS DON'T USE INDEPENDENT DRIVING SYSTEMS OR FREEDOM WHEELS IN HOUSTON. - Original Message - From: [EMAIL PROTECTED]mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] ; quad-list@eskimo.commailto:quad-list@eskimo.com Sent: Sunday, August 19, 2007 3:15 PM Subject: Re: [QUAD-L] VAN UPDATE Nicki, Yes, you go right ahead and scream as much as you feel you need to. Your van ordeal has really scared me. I need to get a new van and just knowing what you've been through, makes me leery of even buying one. Good luck on getting your van back and it working properly for you. Tim, This happened to me last Thursday. I've been having trouble w/my headlights. My best friend is a mechanic so he fixed them. We got 1/2 mile down the road they started to flicker on off again, or they will shut off and on. He can't find a short, doesn't think it's the switch...anyway, we get to where were going and I released my EZ lock switch, it didn't work, tried it again smoke came like crazy from under the dash. My grand daughter was with us in her booster seat in the back. We yelled for her to get out, (the door and ramp were already opened, out of habit to save batteries then I turn off the van) Dave ran around the front released the EZ lock. By then I was holding my breath! Years ago I was having trouble with my EZ lock release so Dave rewired it and put a tago (sp?)switch on the door for me to flip. After trying to fix the lights something happened to my wires when he was putting all that spaghetti back under the dash. We got home, he fixed that,(EZ lock) still can't find a problem with the wires for the lights. He ordered something to the 'mother board' under there. If that doesn't work we'll ship it off to Mobility Works to repair. Sorry for the long version but it's VERY SCARY being trapped in a vehicle when smoke is rolling. It has taken me 16 years to learn...'have people know about the EZ lock manual release' Diannanot a mechanic but I tried to explain the story as best I could. ** Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL at http://discover.aol.com/memed/aolcom30tour
[QUAD-L] VAN UPDATE-Halon System
We chose to use a fire protection used by professional racers called Halon Systems. Its a holding tank with spider hoses going to all the critical area of potential fires. In any emergency, you pull the FIRE RING and Halon is deployed to all areas of the spider hoses. Check it out. Best Wishes W In a message dated 8/19/2007 6:08:07 P.M. Re: [QUAD-L] VAN UPDATE-Halon System
I would think any trapped occupants would be in a suffocation situation should the under dash be flooded with Halon. Burn or suffocate. Dave In a message dated 8/19/2007 7:43:22 P.M.
