2007-10-24 Thread DAANOO
Call your senators to vote against the Dream Act. It will discriminate
against US citizens going to college students, giving illegal immigrants
amnesty.

DREAM Act Must be Put to Sleep
Today, the Senate takes action on the DREAM Act (S.2205). This proposed measure is just another example of Washington's relentless push for amnesty for illegal aliens. By continuing to ignore the will of the American people, these legislators thumb their collective noses at the rule of law. Now is the time for all of us to act!The Democrats are pushing this measure which they say is designed to allow school-aged kids to stay in the U.S. (amnesty) to attend college. The Heritage Foundation describes the bill, saying, "The bill purports to grant amnesty to individuals unlawfully in the United States who arrived before the age of 16. Publicized as a humanitarian measure for children, the bill would allow applicants to immediately receive conditional legal status, including eligibility for federal benefits like student loans."There is so much the Democrats are saying about this bill, and we must stop it today! Here's!
  some more information:

Stop the Dream Act!

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) has invoked Senate Rule XIV on S. 2205 -- Assistant Majority Leader Dick Durbin's (D-IL) new stand-alone DREAM Act amnesty bill -- which means it can be brought to the Senate floor as early as Tuesday (October 23) without ever having been considered in committee.

Call your senator and ask him to stand against the Dream Act!

GOP Candidates Reach Out to 'Values Voters'
by Bobby Eberle
There was definitely a theme to Sunday night's GOP presidential debate. Coming on the heels of the Family Research Council's "Values Voter Summit" in Washington, DC, the candidates traveled to Orlando, Florida to spar with each other and try to claim the mantle of "most conservative."

Latest Republican presidential debate: To win, Republicans need a powerful Reaganesque new theme
by Rachel Alexander
Prior to Sunday night's Republican presidential debate in Orlando, FOX News featured a focus group of Republicans with pollster Frank Luntz. Virtually all of the participants were undecided as to which candidate they would vote for, and the consensus was that someone needs to "step forward" who they can "rally around" who will provide "vision."

'Stark' Raving Mad
by Bobby Eberle
In today's society, especially in the political arena, we have seen the steady erosion of civility, manners, and common courtesy. More and more rhetoric is directed as personal attacks, and too often, the comments made by Democrats get completely overlooked in the media.

I did receive a settlement. It doesn't make up for being a quad, but it has
made life easier for us.

We had been married over twenty years at the time of my injury and I know
that was a big advantage for us, we had created a great bond and a loving
relationship and many time that will over come a lot of hardships. I have been
thankful every day that I have her both before and after the injury.

alittle more about me. I am a C4/5 quad, I live in Montana and in the
winter we go somewhere warm. I have a wife who when I was injured made
everything like it was no big deal, she has been great and does most of my
care. It really is upsetting to hear the problems others have with their
familys and care givers, it has never been a problem for us, I'm sure my wife
has bad days, but it never effects my care. By the way I didn't crash or
anything impressive like that, I had an operation and it didn't go well. I
literally walk in in and didn't walk out.

[QUAD-L] Back from 5 Day Hospital Stay and 4 Day Vacation.

2007-10-24 Thread Danny Hearn
Hi , Everyone...I spent 5 days in the hospital getting 2 types of IV drugs for
pseudamonas bladder infection. They let me out just in time Friday night to be
able to leave for vacation, we had planned for a long time. I have to also take
2 types of oral antibiotics for 10 days. This was my 3rd time in 10 years as a
quad to be hospitalized for pseudamonas infection. My Old Urologist was a good
surgeon but awful for any other help or treatment and was the cause of some of
my problems. My New Urologist was filled in by my family doctor who refered me
to him.Thank God, my new Urologist is an awesome guy that is highly spoke of by
everyone I have talked to. He did a cat-scan and found a small stone forming
and some small pieces left behind from a surgury for a large stone that my OLD
urologist had left in me. He did a( cyscoptomy-not sure of spelling.) and let
me stay awake and watch it all --I was able to see him and the assistants as
well as see it all on the Screen. I hope
to recover and stay well for a while, as far as serious UTI
problems.Special Thanks to LORI-- and others who told me for some time to
find a NEW Urologist!!! ( Dan H. )

Hey Colin,
Glad your wife stayed for the long haul, I've heard to many stories about
the runaway wife.
I wasn't married when I had my diving accident I had a runaway girlfriend
instead but that turned out for the best.
I hope life is treating you well, it sounds like you have a very special
wife and I know that's got to be a blessing.
Just curious but what operation were you having when this happened?

Take care,

Mark Jackson
