[QUAD-L] Missing members...
When Mr Boyd spoke, people listened. Granted, they didn't always agree with him but they listened and often responded. Those were the times Best Wishes In a message dated 7/23/2010 7:56:16 A.M. I haven't heard from him in quite a while. About three years ago I shot a letter off to Boyd Jenkins, because there was some discussion about the oldest living quadriplegic. I used to become so frustrated when I was arguing with them, but he really made me look words up and think about my arguments before I just shot off an e-mail. He was definitely one of a kind. I hope you still doing well. Woah! In addition, I have not noticed any new, young members join the list. Or, perhaps they have and are just lurking and/or they are much younger and therefore we seem like old geezers to them. LOL LOL Having said that, I recently came across some old e-mails from user names that used to be on this list but that I have not heard from or seen posts from in years. One was QuadPirate and another was BluzQuad. Then there was Keith who was from New Jersey. A couple of years ago, or a little longer, Keith and I had corresponded off list. Being longtime correspondents, I am worried about him. This is because he had two brothers who were helping him but they were beginning to get burnt out and he was worried what was going to happen to him (as far as care) and I have never heard from him since. Anyone remember those guys? Are any of you named above still lurking? Lori -- Lori Age - 45 C4/5 complete quad, nearly 31 years post Tucson, AZ

If I remember right Mr. Boyd said he was having Syringomyelia . I could be wrong. Does anybody Remember Sandy a C 1 quadriplegic on a ventilator? I somehow lost touch with Mike Batista C1 on a ventilator. I think he lived in Georgia may be or somewhere close by. I met him on the quad-list and we chatted often. It's awful when you lose touch you don't ever hear from them again. Dana on In a message dated 7/22/2010 8:52:14 P.M. [QUAD-L] Suprapubic
Hi, My friend, c5, 23 years post, 44 years old, has been recommended to get a suprapubic from urologist (Dr. Linsenmeyer of Kessler Institute). He does intermitten cath every 4 hours now and has infections regularly. Has anyone had previous expierence with this urologist? The urologists says that ever quad that he has done the suprapubic surgery to is very satisfied. For those with suprapubic, would you recommend getting it done? Thanks, Derrick W in PA Ps: I'll get your reply even if you get a spam folder message from my is-provider.
[QUAD-L] A few new items from the Christopher Dana Reeve Foundation
Hi all, Monday's the 20th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Christopher Dana Reeve Foundation has a few items in connection with that I wanted to share with you. First, if you're in the LA area and want to be part of a Guinness World Record, we're going for the most wheelchairs in a moving line on Sunday at Dodger Stadium. Details are here: http://bit.ly/9P3Uie Second, we've just released our study to identify the most livable cities in the US for people using wheelchairs. Check out how your city ranks (or doesn't) http://bit.ly/98idH5 Third, and this isn't ADA-focused but pretty fun, we're running a Best Dad on Wheels contest -- so any dads on the list may want to drop a subtle hint to your kids that it's really easy to enter http://bit.ly/cPxlQU That's all for now. Hope everyone has a good weekend Nancy Nancy Purcell for the Christopher Dana Reeve Foundation
