I think, we all sit on top of our cushions,
which cushion do you have?evolution?reflex?meridian?
Does anyone else have a Varilite cushion? good or bad recommendation?

Hey Derrick,
I was having this problem also and after the advice of Lorie, W and a few
others on the board I contacted my Insurance Co. and they sent a representative
to my house..he sold me my wheelchair (Quantra) a fairly new chair to me. my
problem I was sitting ON top of my cushion..I have a Varilite cushion...to fix
the problem the pillow was filled with air and then I transferred onto the
cushion and pillow then we released air until I was "encased' in the
pillow..that was last Friday and I haven't been sidling forward since then.
also, we put my legs up a little and tilted the chair a bit. Hope this
helps...if I didn't have my husband to push me up before it would have driven
me crazy!

That is interesting, cross over specialist, eh? PT, work with the muscles
groups and that which supports them. OT, work with daily living, driver's
evaluation, wheelchairs, scooters and position/seating. Generally, they stick
their nose in another's certification.

Just to let or one of that pressure mapping and seating is not always
done by occupational therapist. In my particular hospital all of this is
accomplished by physical therapist and KTs.

Being evaluated properly by a licensed OT would have resolved that. Do
you have a seat belt, seat harness or velcro straps you can use to secure you
better?

I have 3 different kinda of Jay cushions(foam with gel packed fluid
pad) and I keep sliding forward.
I cannot find a pressure mapping company within 60 miles- maybe more.
Medicare will not pay for it, I' m told.
I've put foam wedges to raise my thighs up. It helps. I use tilt too
but I about slide out anyway.
I live alone soit can get tricky.
Do many quads have this sliding out problem?
