RE: [QUAD-L] Mouthstick
Hi Linda, I get my mouthsticks and supplies at the following website: http://www.wisdomking.com/line255.html Steve - C4, 23 years From: linda...@comcast.net [mailto:linda...@comcast.net] Sent: Saturday, June 11, 2011 7:10 PM To: quad-list Subject: Re: [QUAD-L] Mouthstick Where does everyone get their mouthsticks? Re: [QUAD-L] Mouthstick
Hi Linda, I got mine at http://www.wisdomking.com/mouth-sticks They are well-made but overpriced, and the replaceable mouthpieces tips are far too expensive. However, I have not yet figured out how to make the part that goes in your mouth so I fork over the extra coins. [QUAD-L] Mouthsticks....
I've used the gold colored hollow core plastic tipped sticks and they are so light weight and flimsy they break in a minute. I've had custom sticks made by friends. and have used for umteen years, very unbreakable and go the miles. I'd suggest you contact and friends/of friends that do metal work, if not available just call a metal shop or local tech school and describe your needs. My current sticks are made of solid aluminum rod about 1/4-3/8 diameter, mouth piece is flat aluminum stock, cut out from a plastic/other pattern, welded together, plastic over metal teeth grip is my nightbag 2000cc new, fold long line in half cut, use this to slide over mouthpiece. We usually have to put in very hott-nuked water to soften and make apply-able for your use. I buy plastic tip ends for typing end anywhere I can find them, can find an assortment of sizes in pkg for 2-5 dollars. Just my opinion. Matt Wermer C-4 1989
Re: [QUAD-L] Mouthstick
Thanks Greg Steve, I ordered the same bendable telescopic stick from Sammons Preston. They seem to be the same price. Those sleeves are so expensive that I cut little sleeves out of that thick yellow tubing, works great cheap. Lindaf

Re: [QUAD-L] Misty Mate Personal Cooler
It's been two years since I saw the setup. I was down in Indianapolis for the US Drag Nats in early Sept when it is both dry and HOT. The first row of bleachers offer no shade or cool breezes, except for the NITRO Fueled Dragsters launching during the burnouts and race starts. Surviving means having a cooler at your side with ice and wet towels around your neck. Those using wheelchairs have front row priviliges as they are parked side by side at the starting line. If you move... you are lucky to find a spot when you return as the place is that crowded. The guy had a 3 gallon lawn sprayer with an extended hose with a mister. He used a 24 volt dc selenoid made by Parker or ANCO and a palm button switch. At the track it is most difficult to talk over the noise from the racers and the MC as racing begins early and goes into the night. US Nats, is a week long event and ends on Sunday Night when the finals are held. That year John Force lost early and chose to sit with us in the second row behind the chairs and sign autographs and pose for pictures. That is the best I can offer you. But I can't do it myself very well. Greg Anybody here ever used any of the MistyMate products? Larry

RE: [QUAD-L] Mouthstick
We flattened out the end of the aluminum with pliers and then put the plastic over it, one layer under and one layer over, and then warm the plastic in water and mold it to fit my mouth. We use a Y shape for the computer so I can more easily move the mouse stick side to side. We use a thicker peace that is solid, also a double layer, for my reading mouthstick and while it is soft I bite down on it, so I can use it firmly to turn pages. It’s not pretty but it has worked very well. J Joan
