RE: [QUAD-L] burning sensation in bladder

2011-06-14 Thread Lissette Whitehead

I've been getting burning sensation for a couple months now,
I'm not sure it's my bladder though, I need to go see my doctor
because it keeps getting worse. My catheter does get dirty very quick, so I do
suspect it's bladder stones, but sometimes I thinkit's my intestines because I
feel like my belly is full of gas and itonly comes out when I do my bowel
program which is every otherday and lately I've had very lose stools. But that
burning feelingis just horrible, it's like a boiling sensation but it's usually
just inthe mornings.

Subject: [QUAD-L] burning sensation in bladder

My 24 yr old son has been a quad almost 3 yrs. He got a super pubic catheter
about 6 months after he became a quad. He started to get a horrible burning
pain almost 24/7 around his bladder about 3 months ago. He has had burning
before but never this bad. They found he had bladder stones, did laser surgery
about a month ago and some came out. More pieces have come out in urine since
surgery. The urologist told him the burning pain would never go away though.
Has anyone had this and if so do you still have the horrible pain? How do you
deal with it? He is beside himself and is ready to end his life - please help.

Bless you,
Connie

Give yourself some time to adjust to the new chair before you do anything
drastic.  Every time I've changed to a new powerchair I've hated it at first
and then have slowly grown to like it.  Do whatever adjustments you can to make
it fit you better, but don't give up on it too quickly.

So you won the battle, but lost the war ??  Have you considered brake lever
extensions.  Does TiLite have them or can they be custom made?  I'm surprise
this wasn't revealed at the beginning of your journey.
Best Wishes

I picked up my TiLite ZRA yesterday and was a little disappointed. The brakes
were obviously designed for paras, but even my therapist could not get then on
(weird scissor type spring loaded). My spinergy wheels look nice, but the quick
release axle does not lock. I am using the Varilite cushion which i like
because of the ease of inflation/ deflation.

Amen Todd. We are so fortunate that American Indians allowed us to stay all
these years. When its time to leave, I'll know.
