Re: [QUAD-L] Pain Management

2012-10-17 Thread diannal767

Hi Ron,
If you don't mind me asking, what did they start you out on? I'm seeing a new
spine specialist at the end of the month.

I went to pain management today and they helped me. Gave me what I needed and
is willing to work with me. Thank God! I feel validated as a human being.

Ron,
I'm so glad you finally went to pain management. It took me YEARS
before I admitted to my self that ".… I need help from a pro, I can't handle
the pain myself anymore." My pain Doc is just great, he REALLY cares and like
you said "...… you feel validated."
Make sure your pain Doc knows EVERYTHING your taking - all meds. At first I
recommend that you keep a journal, jotting down if you feel sleepy, con fussed,
agitated, loss of appetite or your not sleeping like you use to. It will help
you and your Doc a lot for the first 6 months.
I hope it helps you out so you can get back to the things you use to enjoy.
Bobbie

[QUAD-L] Heather's Story

>From my friend, Heather, for anyone who thought life wasn't worth living.

Last November the Oprah network in Canada came to Paradise Valley to
film a show about Heather Grossman (injured with a spinal cord injury
from a domestic violence situation.)  We just got notification that it
will be shown at 10 pm on Investigative Discovery on Oct. 17.  That is
channel 104 on Cox cable.  We just watched the hour long show which they
sent us which was shown in its entirety in Canada but will be condensed
into 1/2 hour here in the states.  The name of the show is "The Devil
You Know".

A few years ago I resarched on a lot of these bacteria infections also--one
weird fact that I learned was that PSEUDAMONAS actually thrives even better on
acid invironment, pretty strange isn't it? DanH.

It's funny the bourbon subject came up here. I was doing a little 'research'
just this past weekend. Bulleit is my favorite, but more research is needed.  :)

One note regarding bladder acidity and fruit juices: I was told in rehab that
citrus juices, while acidic, are NOT good for preventing UTIs. I don't remember
why, but I'll research that. Another thing to remember: sugar is bad. If you're
drinking juices, try to get the unsweetened kind.
