Have you talked with Surehands about any warranty on that wheel?

My issue is the rubber wheel is drying out and breaking. A refurbished
wheel and motor,
wheel not sold separately is $1000. Rip off!!!

I can get the motor online for $150, but I ready have 2 working motors on
the shelf. I will find the
wheel, but for now I need to shell out $1K.

Hi Don,

I have had Sure Hands w/ HandiMove lift for about 14 of my 15 years as a
quad, and it has been nothing short of fantastic! I'm a c5/c6 quad, and at
6'5" 240lbs it's the only way for me to xfer myself w/o help to/from bed,
or between chairs. Aside from my power chair and adapted van, it is
essential to my living as independently as I can.

It has been great maintenance-wise, too. I've only had to replace the
battery twice in that time. It was expensive (sorry, don't remember exactly,
but maybe $500, including the service visit).

The one thing I would point out is that you might need high ceilings. My
legs are long, so my feet just clear the foot of the bed. My ceilings are
in an old house (1860), so higher than many (9 foot, I think).

Anyway, I give the lift two thumbs-up and five stars, out of five. It's
worth the expense, because the freedom it provides is priceless.

Does anyone here have the Sure Hands ceiling mounted track lift system?

I know they're not cheap, but I tested one out and was able to transfer
myself independently for the first time in my life. They also don't use a
sling.

I'm looking for any input, pros and cons, from someone experienced with
this system.

Thanks!

Thanks for that info, Bob!

Dana, I will defer your question to Bob. I really don't know much about the
procedure.

Here is the link to New Mobility's article on wound care from the
April issue.

The magazine (I am one of the writers) now offers online subscriptions
for $14.95 a year.
