Considering all the problems and pain does anyone here ever think of getting a
colostomy?

I am seriously considering it. My mom is having neck surgery in January so
I'm giving my body until after that to be back to normal. If it's still
messed up then I'm seeing a surgeon.

Seems that everyone who has had a colostomy say they wish they had done it
sooner.

I had so many bowel issue the last few years, mostly leaking, I finely got
colotomy. Best thing I've done. Bowel rutine was taking 2 hours of non stop
sweating. I finely did it... Makes life so much easier, fewer worries, way
faster, easier on my body. 90sec a day.

[QUAD-L] Recommendations for a trackball please

2015-12-04 Thread Dave Krehbiel
I can move my arms but not my fingers, and I am using Dragon
NaturallySpeaking with Windows 8. In some cases, it can be tedious or
difficult or impossible to move the mouse pointer using Dragon
NaturallySpeaking. Does anyone use a trackball which they recommend?

Thanks so much,

[QUAD-L] Update

2015-12-04 Thread greg
I wasn't feeling great so I wanted IV fluids. At first my doc said yes, but changed his mind. The hospital records said my urologist ordered the home IV antibiotics, so my primary said he wouldn't, that the urologist needs to. But I hadn't seen the urologist. Only made an appointment. He wouldn't because he hadn't seen me. The hospital said they wont. They will set up home IV meds, but not just fluids. So I ended up back in ER just for fluids. Now the ER just called to see how I was doing.  I say I feel about 80% better, but still body very sore, spasms, etc. They say the cultures came back and the IV meds are the wrong kind. They wanted me to get admitted until home nursing got everything changed. I said no, I feel good enough to wait until tomorrow. If not set up by then, I'll go in for an IV, but not admitted.

All I know is next time I go in, I'm bringing a bunch of those heating pads and an electric blanket. I was just freezing.

At least I feel lots better even if wron meds, Greg

[QUAD-L] Prayers etc

2015-12-04 Thread lwillis82153
Guys, my beloved wife Melissa is having some serious health problems. She is in
heart failure; her left ventricle has an ejection factor of 15%. Anything below
40 is considered very serious. She struggles to breathe because of fluid around
her heart. The doc wants to give her a defibrillator to regulate her heartbeat.
It beats extremely fast and won't slow down like it should. It about kills her
taking care of me. I feel so guilty and useless because I know I'm making it
worse. She is only 45. If anything happens to her, I pray that I follow. I have
reached my limit guys. Would you please send up a prayer or just a good thought
for us. God bless each of you for your support and friendship.

2015-12-04 Thread Quadius
Dave,
I use a mouse stick and Dragon, not to mention my trackball. I have been
using the same trackball for a good eight years now. I simply got one from
logic Tech and it had no problem with it whatsoever. In fact I don't really
like the newer models, so I've stuck with the old one. Even though it is
wired.

The really not that expensive and they are much better than a mouse, in my
opinion.
