Re: [QUAD-L] New spinal cord injury movie

Everybody that lives as a quad has a different situation. The most important
factor is a support system. Some of us have tons of support and some have very
little. In any case we all still have life and we try to do the best we can
with what we have left. The guy with the crushed legs is no different, he is
doing the best with what he has. Life is for the living and we all are still
among the living striving to make the best outcome we have. Is a blind person
worse off than a quad? Is a person with aids better off than a para? Who really
knows, we are just a group of quads here trying to help each other with one
issue at a time. Ive had great times as a quad and horrible. At this moment Im
in pain and trying not to take more pills than I need to. I did complete my
power cycle this week and Im going to go on a big adventure this week
regardless. Im trying to find good still as often as I can.

The biggest thing people or the movies don't get is that not walking is the
least of a paralyzed individuals problems and everybody isn't paralyzed from
the waist down. Most also believe that people that can move their arms a little
are not quads. The movie is fun to watch but doesn't show any of the
nitty-gritty rubber glove work that's involved with quadriplegia and that's ok
because very few would watch a real life quad movie. People don't want to know
the truth.

[QUAD-L] Can You Guys Do Me a Favor? gofundme.com/qe6wk5jg

2016-05-01 Thread greg
I might have asked when I first started, but was trying to get my GoFundMe Page jump started again and hoped everyone here with a Facebook Page could post my link on your Facebook? Pleasee...

Paralyzed from the shoulders down, GoFundMe Page started to help raising funds for Wheelchair Accessible Van. Please help spread the word and Share on your Facebook. I thank you so much for helping. 2 newspaper articles for verification gofundme.com/qe6wk5jg

You can word it however you think best. Let me know if you do and I'll go leave a comment. You can Tweet it too...  Huge thanks...

It started good, but really slowed down as of late. Open to any advice on exposure. I tried some disability blogers, local press (got a few local papers, no TV, they said too many now, only special cases). Disability Mags never replied. I tweeded local athletes and a bunch retweeted my address. I even tried a few big name athletes, but very few replied. Too many just assume scams now.

Anyway, always open to new ideas. Thanks so much,

Greg
