I've been sleeping on a purple mattress for about 5 years, it is
surprisingly firm. I got it because of pain from a bulging disc in my
lower back. Despite It's firmness, I haven't had any problems with
skin breakdown. Unfortunately it hasn't helped any with lower back
pain. At the time, it was the only firmness available, but they now
have other options available that look softer.
