[QUAD-L] Dually eligible medicare medicaid

2009-02-09 Thread floreen
I am having a terrible time with part d for my husband which his plan he
uses goes through Humana...Humana is saying he is not dually
eligible. I have been on hold all morning trying to sort this out. Does
anyone have there part B Medicare paid for by Medicaid? I am confused on
this whole thing any help would be greatly appreciated. I am getting
frustrated. Why is it that these types of government places put people with
disabilities through so much hassle? I am thankful it is out there but
there are some able bodied people who chose not to work and pop out kids
every year that just sit back and collect and have no hassle getting any
assistance. I don't mean to offend anyone it just really makes me furious
that people with disabilities don't need any extra hassle. In our state
right now NYS wants to cut home health care all together. If i
could save the world and keep everyone out of nursing homes and have free
home health care in my area I would but What is the world coming too these
days?

[QUAD-L] Disappointment

2009-01-13 Thread floreen
Dear Quad-List,

I happen to be very disappointed about the political emails going on in this
group. For some reason when I signed up for this group I didn't think
Politics had anything to do with it, unfortunately they have lately. I know
that everyone is entitled to their own opinion but aren't there other groups
online for sharing political views?

Since this issue in this group has arisen I would like to unsubscribe to the
group.

Thanks for all your help now and then.

[QUAD-L] Complications with a Flap Surgery

2008-12-14 Thread floreen

My husband had a flap surgery on a pressure sore, he stayed in the hospital
for two weeks and came home last Thursday and his flap opened up about 5
inches long wide open. Has anyone else had a flap? Or complications with a
flap? He went to the local ER which is not the hospital he had the surgery
at. They put dry gauze in it and sent him home...I will be
contacting his doc tomorrow seeing it is the weekend. What can they do for
him? Stitch it back together?

Thanks in advance

[QUAD-L] NINE WORDS WOMEN USE

2008-12-08 Thread floreen

NINE WORDS WOMEN USE

 (1) Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are

Right and you need to shut up.

(2) Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour.

Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more

Minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.

(3) Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something,

And you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing

Usually end in fine.

(4) Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!

(5) Loud Sigh: This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement

Often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an

Idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing

With you about nothing. (Refer back to # 3 for the meaning of nothing.)

(6) That's Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statement s a women

Can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard

Before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.

(7) Thanks: A woman is thanking you, do not question, or faint. Just say

You're welcome. (I want to add in a clause here - This is true, unless

She says 'Thanks a lot' - that is PURE sarcasm and she is not thanking

You at all. DO NOT say 'you're welcome'. That will bring on a

'Whatever').

(8) Whatever: Is a woman's way of giving you the finger.

(9) Don't worry about it, I got it: Another dangerous statement, meaning

This is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but

Is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking 'what's

Wrong?' For the woman's response refer to # 3.

* Send this to the men you know, to warn them about arguments they can avoid
if they remember the terminology.

* Send this to all the women you know to give them a good laugh, cause

they know it's true!!!

[QUAD-L] Why Did the chicken cross the road?

2007-01-29 Thread Floreen Breyette
Why did the Chicken cross the road?

GEORGE W. BUSH:
We don't really care why the chicken crossed the road. We just want To know if
the chicken is on our side of the road or not. The chicken is either with us or
it is against us. There is no middle ground here.

AL GORE:
I invented the chicken. I invented the road. Therefore, the chicken crossing
the road represented the application of these two different functions of
government in a new, reinvented way designed to bring greater services to the
American people.

RALPH NADER:
The chicken's habitat on the original side of the road had been polluted by
unchecked industrialist greed. The chicken did not reach the unspoiled habitat
on the other side of the road because it was crushed by the wheels of a
gas-guzzling SUV.

PAT BUCHANAN:
To steal a job from a decent, hard-working American.

RUSH LIMBAUGH:
I don't know why the chicken crossed the road, but I'll bet it was getting a
government grant to cross the road, and I'll bet someone out there is already
forming a support group to help chickens with crossing-the-road syndrome. Can
you believe this? How much more of this can real Americans take? Chickens
crossing the road paid for by their tax dollars, and when I say tax dollars,
I'm talking about your money, money the government took from you to build roads
for chickens to cross.

DR. SEUSS:
Did the chicken cross the road? Did he cross it with a toad? Yes, the chicken
crossed the road, But why it crossed, I've not been told!

ERNEST HEMINGWAY
To die. In the rain. Alone.

MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR.
I envision a world where all chickens will be free to cross roads without
having their motives called into question.

GRANDPA:
In my day, we didn't ask why the chicken crossed the road. Someone told us that
the chicken crossed the road, and that was good enough for us.

BARBARA WALTERS
Isn't that interesting? In a few moments we will be listening to the chicken
tell, for the first time, the heart-warming story of how it experienced a
serious case of molting and went on to accomplish its life-long dream of
crossing the road.

JOHN LENNON
Imagine all the chickens crossing roads in peace.

ARISTOTLE
It is the nature of chickens to cross the road.

KARL MARX
It was a historical inevitability.

SADDAM HUSSEIN
This was an unprovoked act of rebellion and we were quite justified in dropping
50 tons of nerve gas on it.

VOLTAIRE
I may not agree with what the chicken did, but I will defend to the death its
right to do it.

RONALD REAGAN
What chicken?

CAPTAIN KIRK
To boldly go where no chicken has gone before.

FOX MULDER
You saw it cross the road with your own eyes! How many more chickens have to
cross before you believe it?

SIGMUND FREUD
The fact that you are at all concerned that the chicken crossed the road
reveals your underlying sexual insecurity.

BILL GATES
I have just released eChicken 2003, which will not only cross roads, but will
lay eggs, file your important documents, and balance your checkbook - and
Internet Explorer is an inextricable part of eChicken.

MARTHA STEWART
No one called to warn me which way that chicken was going. I had a standing
order at the farmer's market to sell my eggs when the price dropped to a
certain level. No little bird gave me any insider information.

ALBERT EINSTEIN
Did the chicken really cross the road or did the road move beneath the chicken?

BILL CLINTON
I did not cross the road with THAT chicken. What do you mean by chicken? Could
you define chicken, please?

THE BIBLE
And God came down from the heavens, and He said unto the chicken, Thou shalt
cross the road. And the chicken crossed the road, and there was much
rejoicing.

COLONEL SANDERS
I missed one?

They just put an adjustable velcro splint on my leg and it healed slowly, but I had to start
ROM befor it healed and fused in a singleposition. You may want to see if his discolored urine clears up with some vicodin. Pain can cause kidneys and other organs to mess up. Ya don't feel it but its there. They should have splinted his leg. I Think you want a 30 degree angle at the knee. If AD (Autonomic Dysreflexia) starts you should call 911 and goto the ER. Try to get a physiatrist to consult. Watch his blood preasure. Make him comfortable if he starts running a fever. Use ice on the knee. and try some pain meds. If kidney output keeps dropping, head to the ER. I'm willing to bet the pain is causing what appears to be a UTI. good luck, john In a message dated 7/3/2006 6:00:41 PM Eastern Daylight Time, [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes: He also tore his
