I think the counting of absentee ballots is like most other things, it
differs from state to state.
I know that in many counties in Florida they began counting the absentee
ballots as soon as the polling stations close. They are very simple to
count since they are Scantron's.

Abscentee ballots aren't counted yet when we get the election results but
they do get counted eventually. Its just that they usually dont make a
difference at that point. We don't vote for the president anyhow, the
electoral college does. Remember Al Gore had the popular vote only for Bush
to win because of the court. Some democracy!

You're right on target Bill. They may not get counted on election Day, but
they do get counted eventually. At least I pray they do.

Perhaps I heard it wrong. Is it possible that their votes are not counted
in the Primary?

In the 1992 and 1996 elections I helped count ballots for the sate of MI
absentee voters. There were many, many ballots from service personnel that I
personally counted. ABC is full of crap if they made such a statement. I'm
not doubting you. I just didn't see that show myself.

actually I hope I'm wrong and you are right. ABC's Dateline reported
this info about our combat soldiers votes not being counted. And that is not
to imply that our fighting soldiers don't vote or don't want to vote. Again,
I hope I'm wrong.
