[QUAD-L] Fwd: Sores
I hear you too, Bobbie. I refuse to do any of those tests that docs recommend for my age. I think it's my way of telling the universe to go -- itself. I don't control much, but I do control this. It is YOUR body and of you don't want to stay in bed for X amount of months in bed, then don't. I, personally have NEVER EVER seen an OBGYN or had a PAP smear or have a mammogram. I'll never have a Colonoscopy or any other type of tests for disease hunting. I've been plugging along doing this Quad living for over 40 years now. I sit on a Roho and fully expect to take this sore to the grave with me. I simply cannot and will not spend the 12 months or more in bed that healing would require. It burns and hurts like crazy some daysand nights. However, I am 62 and 43 years post. I'm pretty sure I'm not nearly as motivated as I once was. Sent from my iPad

I'm pretty ignorant to caring for a sore, other than the simple scrape. I have seen quads down here who are using a vacuum device which is supposed to facilitate the healing process. I've even seen some sitting in wheelchairs. Have you tried this out yet? On Fri, Mar 14, 2014 at 9:32 PM, Larry Willis lwillis82...@gmail.comwrote: I hear you too, Bobbie. Re: [QUAD-L] Fwd: Sores
Had gangrene from the surgeon leaving a fixator on my foot too long. I was on wound vac for two months and then I had plastic surgery on my heel. They had me on so much proteins I drank about 2 Insure per day and yogurt. My wound Dr in the past had told me to take L-arginine was it which is a generic form, My rehab doctor had told me to take 2-256 mg of Zinc when I had a sore Which is a prescription. Dr. Oz says to eat Protein every 2 to 3 hours for a normal person as we age. Probably already know this.
