In my "survey of one"--check out the Peristeen system by Coloplast. It is a
rectal catheter with a small inflatable
balloon--basically a rectal Foley. Water goes into your bowel through the Foley
and the balloon keeps the water
from going out. This is done while sitting on the commode. For most people,
complete emptying takes place
in 20-40 minutes. I've been using it for 5 months now, no accidents and my
hemorrhoids have vanished.

At the moment medicaid and some private insurance is covering the system and
Medicare coding is expected this
fall.

I've been doing my BP in bed for over 40 years. Since I sleep on my stomach,
it's relatively easy for me. Every night we put a chux under me and one between
my legs to catch "the results". Before I put my blankets on, my aide inserts a
dulcolax suppository.
That means that I have all night to fully empty and 99.9% of the time there is
no suppository residue.

I started doing this within a few years of my injury. I felt I had better
things to do during the day, so why not try it while sleeping.

Have any of you had to go through having hemorrhoids?
I’ve tried the over the counter stuff and had no relief. I was wondering if any
of you have gone through having them and how did you get rid of them. If you
had surgery how long was the stay, was it a very big deal?
Thank you

Feces which is not cleaned, will dry out and cause further itching.
After all is cleaned
and dried, a little more Prep H applied to the hemorrhoid helps reduce
swelling.

A daily bowel program will help stool from building up in the bowel and
causing pressure

Hemmoroids? OoYes! Been there done  that. I recommend mirilax and go easy on the stimmulation. Be sure to get the suppository up high. Try using an extra preperation H  between bowel movements. Drink plenty of water. If it doesn't clear up you might want to talk to your doctor. You won't enjoy anything he does so, truly, eat salads with spinach.
If your just getting blood in your stool and you have no hemmoroids, go see your doctor now. He will probably want a sample.
Whatever happens, Good Luck!.

Start taking iron pills if you are
