Yes. My first wheelchair accident happened 17 years after I began using one. I got too close to a curb an my right wheels dropped off. I tipped over sideways. You are correct Shahidul, 8 miles per hour is not that fast, my invacare Arrow is supposed to go about 7 to 71/2 miles per hour and I have had it 61/2 years now. As with ANY man made or mechanical device, something can break or go wrong, but the same goes for cars-bikes or anything. Even walking or running has a risk. Dan H. [QUAD-L] Power Chair speed.... and breaking (stopping)
Keep in mind that we drag race some very powerful and fast vehicles. A major design rule of racing is that you should have equal braking to speed ratio. Once you get up to speed, you want to be able to stop...safely. Another issue are those motors. When those motors exceed their natural speed, as in going downhill, those motors become generators that can produce high voltage and ZAP your controller. You don't need that.
