Re: [QUAD-L] RE: Baclofen pump
HI littleQuad, I have the baclofen pump for 5yrs. and it has changed my life. Before I got it I had spasms so bad that they caused AD. I very rarely have spasms now. It also helped the pain I had. I wish you good luck and I hope you have as good results as I did. IT WAS SPINAL FLUID. so i went to the emergency room had my back double stichted and glued then i went home again. more fluid leaked out and i ended up staying in the hospital for 3 days on my back. all of this went on in a 1 1/2 yr. period. oh yea not to mention the other 5 surgeries i had to test the pump to find out why it wasn't working. luke

Re: [QUAD-L] RE: Baclofen pump
So sorry Luke. I'm sorry you had such a rough time. I didn't know what it would take so much to remove and it would cause so much trouble. that information would think when leery of trying one. I wonder how many persons have had the same problems? I always wondered that question when I'm going to have some kind of procedure. Dana. wow, so sorry to hear the pain and trouble!! i go for the trial next thursday, hoping have better results! do you no longer have it period? what are you doing for spasms? thanks ton[EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I have heard that the pump has helped a lot of people but me personally i had a bunch of problems with it. the skin over the pump was very painful to the touch. my spasms kept getting worse the more they raised the dosage. the doctor found bacteria in the baclofen fluid so i told them to remove the pump. afterthe surgery to remove mypump i went home for about an hour when my mom noticed a puddle of clear liquid on the ground under my chair. Re: [QUAD-L] RE: Baclofen pump
Hey Amy, I have a quad friend Adam Mayla that when they put a new baclofen pump he made a appointment at the wound care where I go he was eat up with infection at the pump site and in his back where the tubes come around. The wound care nurse said he was near death and she rushed him to ICU where as friday he was still there. She said if he hadn't come in he would have surly died. Not try to scare you but he's always had trouble with the pump, any foran body in in your body causes complacations. If you won't his email address let me know! Hope you don't have any troubles, good luck!
