Oh, yeah it was permanent and I was in the hospital for 5 days BUT This was in 1988. I got the ryzodomy in 1988 because of spazams and the surgery stopped the spazams completely. I had mine in 1988 and MRI's were far & few between so I did not have one ... just n X-Ray.
