Re: [QUAD-L] Sennheiser PC 31-11
Hello all, I've had 2 headsets in the last 15 years, and both of them came with my Dragon NaturallySpeaking software, I think you can get them from Dragon for about $25 but I'm not sure on that. I use a telescoping rod that attaches to a shelf on my desk, I've had it so long I'm not sure where I got it. I hang the headset on the end of the rod, and position it so I can drive up next to it when using the computer. I too, do not use the speaker part of the headset and everything goes through my computer speakers. When I purchased my last computer, I also purchased a cheap microphone ($7 at the time) from Amazon (link is below). I tried it on the new computer and it seemed to work fine, but I chose to use my old headset because it just works for me. Although, with my situation I'm lucky enough to be in my own home. What about something like this GooseneckMic 7G USB https://buddymicrophones.com/product/gooseneckmic-7g-usb/ or ECS GN-M 3.5 mm Adjustable Gooseneck Dictation Microphone https://www.amazon.com/GN-M-Adjustable-Gooseneck-Dictation-Microphone/dp/B009ELCBWG/ On Tue, Nov 7, 2017 at 4:23 PM, Noel wrote: > I don't know if this is an option, but when I used to be alone all day, > instead of placing the microphone on my head, I would hook it over the back > of my bed, or whatever chair (usually a recliner) I would be sitting in all > day. Re: [QUAD-L] Sennheiser PC 31-11
I don't know if this is an option, but when I used to be alone all day, instead of placing the microphone on my head, I would hook it over the back of my bed, or whatever chair (usually a recliner) I would be sitting in all day. I was somehow able to place the boom of the microphone a couple of inches from my cheek. I never had to use the speaker on the headset, luckily the computer speakers always seemed to work just as well. Now I use a desktop microphone that sits on a small table. NaturallySpeaking isn't quite as accurate, and it picks up more background noise. [QUAD-L] Sennheiser PC 31-11
I'm looking for advice about headset comfort. I googled and searched this thoroughly and cannot find what I need,Earphone Sennheiser "PC 31-II" cushion. I am paralyzed from the neck down and so I keep my headset on 24 seven and even though I bought the most recommended headset for comfort, it has made a sore in my right ear that bleeds. Under no circumstances do I want to be without the headset because it is my only way to contact the outside world, and I am in a nursing home and with strangers, not family; to be helpless and not be with family but strangers is a very insecure way to be, if you are absolutely as helpless as a baby. Absolutely scary. Bleeding is a small price to pay for security, and not to be fearful. if anyone has a suggestion for a solution please tell me because I'm absolutely unable to figure out what to do myself aside from stick a piece of foam between the earphone and my ear and then I probably would not be able to hear. Currently I have them pushed forward in front of my ear, which is not ideal but it does keep the earphone off of the sore except that somehow it manages to wiggle back onto the sore spot every now and then. Very unpleasant. And being in a nursing facility, I could wait an hour or 2 for a nurse to come move it off the sore.
