I use a brush with a flat handle (Reach) so it will lie bristle-up while I 
apply paste. Then I pick it up and go at it.

I'm not too proud!

I use the stand up tube for toothpaste, unscrew the cap, suck a small 
amount of toothpaste in my mouth, replace cap, pick up my crest spinbrush and 
brush my teeth.

Having used an electric toothbrush I would not go back to a manual 
brush.

The dentist sees a big difference also.

OK no one has mentioned my way yet.  I squirt it on the side of the  
sink  wipe the brush in it.  I also do hair mousse that way.

get a sonicare  toothbrush...does a much better job of cleaning teeth  
and gums and all you need to do  is hold it and let it do the work

I got one of those. It was very hard to hold. Plus, I always bite the brush
to turn it to do my other side. But biting the Sonicare to turn it was not
easy.

and gums and all you need to do  is hold it and let it do the work

I just suck the toothpaste from the tube - I always leave the cap off. And hold 
the brush as best I can and brush away. You just have to try and see what works 
best for you. To floss I use a 'Reach' brand. It comes with disposable refills 
but the best part is you just snap them out when the floss breaks and snap a 
new one on the handle.I put a new refill in my mouth, pick up the handle, stick 
it in my mouth and use my tounge and teeth to snap in the refill - just be 
careful you don't swallow it! You can buy them at most grocery or drug stores.
