LC 630 / CD Rom replacement.

2003-01-26 Thread Stuart Saunders
I have an LC 630 which has given me great service and now I use as a
Fax server. However, the CD Rom has just bought the farm.

What CD Roms can I use in the 630? Any particular specs apart from
scsi?

Will the 630 recognise a CD RW?

Any precautions?

Also would like to put the HD just yanked from my orig iMac into the
630. Can this be done? How do I format it; I have heard that system 8.1
can allow HFS+ formatting, but I only have sys 8 and 8.5 on discs. I
don't think 8.5 will work on a 630?

TIA,
Stuart.

G3 List? What is the subscribe info for that?

This is a "native" G3 (beige, blue and white, imac?) You would want the G-list.

And as mentioned later, it's really a list for what I called "native"
G3/4s, not upgraded Powermacs. If it's an upgrade, you probably want to
look into PCI Powermacs (or 1st Powermacs, if it's a G3-upgraded 61-, 71-,
or 8100.)

Eric

no.

3.5 works fine for me, I didn't know that there was an updater to 3.5.1.
I would look on the FTP sites, If I find one on the FTP sites I will let you
know.
